Mission Details:
Discover the dark secret of the Abandoned Mansion in the Outskirts and survive until dawn! Failure to comply with the quest will result in the reduction of the host's lifespan by 30 years.
----
Danny rub his eyes a few times before he glanced at the screen of the phone again. He didn't read it wrong. A penalty of 30 years life span reduction.
"Haha...hahaha... this is a funny joke...Tell me, was this all recorded on camera by any chance?!" Danny nervously laughed as he looked around his apartment for whatever hidden cameras hidden around his room which he knows there wasn't any to begin with. He looked at it again and below the mission details, there are instructions and requirements for the mission to be successful.
----
Mission Requirements:
1. The tester needs to start the mission once 6:00 in the evening hits the clock.
2. The tester will need to stay into the location once the mission's clock begins. If the tester leaves the test site, whether intentional or not, as long as he left the designated spot, the mission will automatically be labeled as a failure.
3. Staying in one place is prohibited. The tester must be actively exploring the place or else, the mission will fail as well.
4. The tester can't leave the site until the dawn (6:00 in the morning) hits.
5. The tester can bring items by themselves to ensure their survival during the mission. There is no limit to what can be brought along as long as they follow the previous requirements.
6. Additional rewards will be awarded to the tester if they achieved something while inside the test site.

Realization kicks in and he throws the phone to the ground as much as he can to potentially destroy it...only for the phone to bounce like and remain intact. Regular phones treated that way would have its LCD break and make some funny rainbow colors along with distorted display as a result...and yet the phone remained intact like it didn't get slammed hard.
"F*ck...is this actually a real thing?"
He read the mission details alongside with the tale itself displayed. He found the location familiar so he pulls up the local map using the internet and as expected, the location is just outside the city and the location that was being specified itself was the so-called "Abandoned Mansion." It was a popular local creepypasta by many people and considers it as something to be used to scare children who wanted to check out the place.
However, according to the locals who are the nearest of the mansion, they said a few people have gone missing since they have entered the place. No one dares to know whether those people are inside the mansion or not, it was now a story that made anyone who dares to enter the place to be careful. According to the rumors, perhaps those people have died and are now rotting inside the mansion...or perhaps they experienced something much worse than death.
For some, an experience like that is something that is for the thrill and are seeking the dopamine that a real good scare can give. But many would rather preserve their life rather than do something stupid like exploring the place and knowing the truth surrounding the place.
The same thing cannot be applied to Danny though. It might sounded like it was just some sort of bullsh*t story that was meant to scare him, but the application before him is already showing the timer which means that there was a possibility that this was a real deal challenge.
It is pretty unbelievable at first but 30 years. 30 years worth of his lifespan will be sucked out of him if he failed the quest itself. It might not sound much...but does Danny even know when he is going to die? Can he just fork out the 30 years of his life like it was just regular money if this thing was real?
"No way in hell."
He cannot risk his 30 years of his life to be wasted just like that. His mother still needs him. And he will make sure that this thing will not rob him of his life whatsoever.
"The mission is not too bad. Survive until dawn," Danny nodded by himself while reading his phone. For someone who have been watching various ways to make content in the internet, there is one thing that a few people likes to stream a test of courage routine by exploring a supposedly haunted location. Of course, he knew it was a staged thing and yet the audience clearly loved it. It was a good way to make content indeed. However, he didn't replicate this method for streaming. For starters, this one is only suitable if one has a sizable number of people they can employ, one to record the video, a few people who will stage the scares, and three, a good amount of audience to interact with.
Danny has neither of those three points to begin with, making the test of courage content something he decided to do against. He didn't have any way to be able to make any good scares in the first place and he didn't have any good people he can hire to make this content in any other way or form.
But now that he had this mission...it seems that he will have to do it as well, but without any backup. A solo test of courage with a 30 years of his life on the line. A mission he can't afford to miss and surrender.
"If that is the case...perhaps we can use this for a content?"
He glanced at his camera that he uses for streaming and the platform he was using to stream. A grin appeared on his face.
"Desperate times requires desperate measures."
A stupid plan started to form in his head.

THUD!
He put down the slightly heavy bag down to the table and double check the items he will be bringing along on this mission.
The first thing he brought along is a knife. His kitchen knife to be precise but he sharpen the blade, making it a makeshift weapon that can seriously injure someone if he tries to use it. He made sure to strap it on his waist to arm himself. As much as he wanted to also bring a gun...he didn't have any license for it, and he didn't own one to begin with. So aside from the kitchen knife, he also brought to himself a hand axe, a crowbar, and a screwdriver.
He also brought along some medical supplies. Bandages, alcohol wipes, and cotton to ensure that he will be able to heal any injuries that he will be getting in this excursion. Aside from that, he also brought a lighter, a flashlight, and a few spare batteries. He is too prepared for this but better prepared than be sorry. With him entering a place that was considered as haunted and dangerous, that alone is enough for Danny to be cautious.
The last thing he did is put the emergency hotline in speed dial and made sure to make the phone silent. Packing the essentials for streaming as well, he is now ready for his dangerous mission.

"Are you going to work?" the guard eyed him suspiciously when Danny arrived on the hospital and the guard inspected his bag. The guard has already memorized his face so he wasn't worried but seeing the guy carry lots of dangerous tools with him, he can't help but frown.
"Yeah. I have to do so. Can I leave this bag for now? I will just visit my mother. Only the fruits and a few goods are the ones I will be bringing along with me."
"If that is the case, then go and do it. I will just give back this bag once you are done."
Danny nodded before passing the entrance, leaving behind his bag to the guard. As to why Danny is here, he just thought of visiting his mother. He didn't want her to worry about him.
Riding the elevator, he can't help but think back on the mission. Is this really the right answer? He is not sure about it, but he will ensure that he will be doing his best. He can't afford to end his efforts and disappoint his mother who is suffering from her disease.
Standing in front of the door, Danny inhaled and exhaled as he slowly open the doorknob of the room. There, his mother is awake and is currently being fed by a caregiver that was assigned to her. Since he can't always be with his mother, he has to get a caregiver to help her.
"Thanks for the good work, Miss Jackie," Danny smiled at the nurse as he put down the basket of fruits to the cabinet table.
"Good afternoon, Danny! Looks like your Mom is feeling well today."
"I see. Thank you," Danny smiled as he looked at his mother who is smiling at him.
"Danny...you seemed to have gotten darker..." his mom smiled as she held his hands.
"Haha...well it happens, especially if you work under the sun. But it didn't matter much. This is just a little tan that will disappear. It's fine really. How are you feeling now?" Danny asked as he looked at his mother's pale face.
"I am feeling a little better. Thanks to Nurse Jackie here helping, I get to eat my fill."
"That's good to know, Mom. With how you didn't eat anything for a few days, I got worried you know?"
"Sorry about that, Danny. I am sorry for being a burden like this..."
"Mom! Don't say that! You are not a burden or anything like that! You didn't wanted this sickness to begin with so it isn't your fault, Mom! Don't blame yourself!"
"But..."
"I know, Mom. And I am aware of it. But remember, you are not a burden. I will do my utmost best to remove you from your suffering. Just you wait, Mom."
Danny is determined. As much as he wanted to tell his mother about this new things he will be about to do...he decided to not do it. He can't afford to worry his mother about it.
The two chat for a bit before his mother went to sleep after feeling drowsy as a result of her medicines. Once she went asleep, Nurse Jackie approached and checked the dextrose and nodded.
"You don't need to worry too much on your mother now, Danny. She is a strong woman, she will be able to handle herself."
"Yes, I know."
He then remembered something related to his livestreams and decided to let Nurse Jackie know in advance. After all, Nurse Jackie is one of his regular viewers due to how his Mother wanted to watch livestreams that he was doing. She ended up watching his cringey videos.
"Miss Jackie, if my Mom ask to open up a video related to my live, can you please say that I didn't do anything?"
"Eh? Why though? Your mother enjoys your livestreams so much!"
"I can't let her see what I am about to do tonight. Please, I beg you. I don't want to stress my mother."
Although Nurse Jackie do not understand what he said, she nodded and agreed. With this, Danny is ready.

Retrieving the bag again from the guard, Danny headed to the location of the mansion. He asked a taxi to drop him off on the nearest convenience store of the edge of the town. It is farther from the mansion but it is a walking distance. That way, the driver wouldn't be afraid to bring him there.
Once he got off the taxi, Danny walk towards the mission location. It is still 5:55, 5 minutes left before the mission will begin. By the time he will arrive, it will be a good time to begin his mission as well.
He hasn't reached the mansion just yet and the sun shouldn't have fully set just yet but the area of the mansion has already been so dark. Looking at the phone's time, he already made a countdown on his livestream. Although nervous, he steeled himself and ready himself. As he readies his livestream equipment, the phone with the strange app lit up bright red.
"So if I have accomplished the prerequisite requirements, the phone will lit up like this? I must say...pretty convenient I guess."
5:58 P.M
5:59 P.M
6:00 P.M
Danny activates his livestream and began the live recording. The Live is On.
