Vaerion frowned when he walked through the front doors of his home.
Asuriel wasn't inside.
"Thrak," Vaerion summoned the imp, who appeared before him instantly.
Thrak flapped his wings, happy to have been called upon. "Yes, Master?"
"Where is she?" the devil asked harshly.
"Miss and the cat went for a walk," Thrak answered. "They didn't say where."
"Thanks. Leave." Vaerion dismissed him, and the imp disappeared.
Vaerion's mood was soured. He knew that Kismet wouldn't allow anything to happen to her – the damned creature was far more helpful than he cared to admit, but that didn't mean he had to be happy that she went somewhere with the void rat and not him.
With a disgruntled sigh, Vaerion pulled his phone out of his pocket. He wanted to text Asuriel to ask where she was, but something in the back of his mind stopped him from hitting send.
