Arrival in Singapore

The plane touched down at Singapore Changi Airport in the early afternoon, the sun casting a golden glow over the sprawling terminals. As the team disembarked, they were greeted by the cool, air-conditioned interiors of one of the world's most modern airports. The sleek design, lush indoor gardens, and vibrant art installations immediately captivated their sights.

Matthew led the group through immigration, his nerves hidden behind a determined expression. Samantha clutched a neatly organized folder containing their documents, while Saimon and Leo took in their surroundings with wide eyes.

"Wow," Leo muttered, glancing at the towering waterfall centerpiece of the Jewel Changi Airport. "This place is insane. It's like a mall, a park, and an airport had a baby."

"Focus," Samantha reminded him, though even she couldn't hide her admiration for the airport's grandeur. "We're here for business, not sightseeing."

They made their way toward the arrivals area, where a young woman in a crisp black blazer stood holding a sign that read, BYD – Matthew Borja Team. Her poised demeanor and polished appearance immediately caught their attention.

"That must be her," Matthew said, adjusting the strap of his messenger bag.

The woman spotted them and offered a warm smile. "Good afternoon. You must be Mr. Borja and your team. I'm Christine Liang, Mr. Huang's assistant. Welcome to Singapore."

"Thank you, Ms. Liang," Matthew replied, shaking her hand. "It's an honor to be here."

"Please, call me Christine," she said, gesturing for them to follow her. "Mr. Huang is looking forward to meeting you tomorrow. For now, let me show you to your transportation and accommodations."

Christine led them to a sleek black van waiting at the curb. The interior was spacious and luxurious, with plush leather seats and tinted windows. As they settled in, Christine handed each of them a small packet containing the itinerary, a city map, and an access badge for BYD's headquarters.

The van glided smoothly through Singapore's immaculate streets. Saimon and Leo marveled at the city's futuristic skyline, dotted with iconic landmarks like Marina Bay Sands and the ArtScience Museum. Samantha flipped through the itinerary, ensuring every detail was in order.

Christine sat in the front passenger seat, occasionally glancing back to address them. "Your hotel is just a short drive away. You'll be staying at the Marina Bay Sands, courtesy of BYD. Once you're settled in, you're free to explore the city. Just remember, the meeting tomorrow is at 10:00 AM sharp."

"Marina Bay Sands?" Leo whispered to Saimon. "That's the hotel with the infinity pool on top, right?"

Saimon nodded, a grin spreading across his face. "This trip just keeps getting better."

Matthew, however, remained focused. "Christine, is there anything specific we should prepare for tomorrow?"

Christine turned to him, her expression thoughtful. "The presentation will be in our innovation center, a state-of-the-art facility where you'll have access to all the necessary equipment. The key is to be concise and clear. Mr. Huang values innovators who can articulate their vision effectively."

Matthew nodded, taking mental notes. "Understood."

The van pulled up to the grand entrance of Marina Bay Sands, where uniformed staff greeted them with impeccable service. As they stepped out, the sheer scale of the hotel left them momentarily speechless. The towering structure seemed to touch the sky, its unique design a testament to architectural brilliance.

Christine accompanied them to the reception desk, where their check-in was seamless. Each of them received a key card to their respective rooms, along with a complimentary guide to the hotel's amenities.

"I'll leave you to settle in," Christine said, handing Matthew her business card. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me. I'll meet you here in the lobby tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM."

"Thank you, Christine," Matthew said sincerely.

The team gathered in Matthew's room, which offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline and the bustling Marina Bay below. They momentarily gazed on the view before they set up their laptops and reviewed the final details of their presentation.

"We need to run through this one more time," Samantha said, connecting her laptop to the room's TV. "Let's make sure everything flows seamlessly."

Leo pulled out his sketches and mock-ups, spreading them across the coffee table. "The visuals are ready. I've added animations to highlight the modular battery system."

Saimon chimed in, "And I've refined the technical breakdown. If they ask for specifics, I'm ready."

Matthew stood at the center of the room, flipping through cue cards. "Good. Let's focus on telling our story—how this isn't just about an electric vehicle, but about creating a sustainable future for the Philippines."

They rehearsed late into the night, fine-tuning every detail and anticipating potential questions. By the time they finished, exhaustion had set in, but so had a sense of readiness.

The next morning, the team gathered in the hotel lobby, dressed in sharp business attire. Christine arrived promptly at 8:30 AM, her demeanor as composed as ever.

"Good morning," she greeted them. "I trust you all had a good night's rest?"

"Good enough," Matthew replied with a small smile. "We're ready."

Christine nodded approvingly. "Then let's not keep Mr. Huang waiting."

The van glided through the pristine streets of Singapore, heading toward BYD's regional headquarters. The team sat in silence, each member mentally rehearsing their part in the presentation.

Christine glanced back at them. "You'll be presenting in our main innovation center. It's equipped with everything you'll need, including a digital display system for your visuals. Mr. Huang will be joined by key members of BYD's regional leadership team, so it's a great opportunity to make an impression."

Matthew nodded, his hands resting on the briefcase that contained their presentation materials. "Thank you, Christine. We'll make sure to use the opportunity wisely."

As they approached the building, the van slowed to a stop in front of a sleek, futuristic structure with mirrored glass panels that reflected the surrounding skyline. The BYD logo was prominently displayed above the entrance, gleaming in the sunlight. Uniformed staff greeted them as the van's doors opened.

Christine led the team inside, where the spacious lobby featured clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic.

"This way," Christine said, directing them toward a private elevator. They rode up to the top floor, the smooth hum of the elevator matching the quiet anticipation in the air. When the doors opened, they were met with a spacious conference room that overlooked the city.

The innovation center was a marvel in itself. A massive LED screen stretched across one wall, and a sleek, modern conference table was equipped with state-of-the-art technology. A team of BYD staff was already setting up for the presentation.

"Take a moment to settle in," Christine said. "Mr. Huang and the others will be here shortly."

As the team arranged their materials and connected their laptops to the room's systems, Matthew glanced at his team.

"Let's stay focused. We've prepared for this. Let's show them what we've got."
