Lilia stared at him, shocked. She hadn't expected that response, especially when the only reason she had retorted earlier was because she couldn't possibly feed him in front of the chauffeur. Not to mention, her heart had been pounding so loudly that she feared he might take things further than just teasing her.

Now, hearing his serious reply, she found herself wondering—was this man always this serious? Or was it just his unreadable nature? His thoughts were impossible to discern, hidden behind an expression that gave nothing away. It made it nearly impossible to tell whether he was lying or telling the truth.
