What Are You?

Zethan gripped the steering wheel, his hands trembling. The car roared down the desolate road, moving faster than ever. His blood-red eyes locked on the path ahead, unblinking, unyielding. His jaw clenched tight, his breath shallow and ragged.

Fear clawed at his chest—fear unlike anything he had ever felt before.

He should have known. He should have listened to the unease gnawing at him, whispering warnings into the back of his mind. But he hadn't. And now, Zack would pay for it.

A figure in the middle of the road.

Lilia.

Bound. Motionless.

His heart stopped, but the car didn't. It tore forward at full speed. Zethan yanked the wheel in a frantic motion.

SCREECH!

The tires screeched, the vehicle spinning wildly before crashing into the trees.

Before the impact fully settled, he was already moving.
