Déjà vu

When she woke up, she was in a alley lying on the floor. She stood up tiding herself.

"Where am I and what am I doing here? " She looked at the unfamiliar street in front of her and said.

[ Yes, she had no recollection of what happened after her consciousness faded.]

She looked at the faraway sky, the dusking sun was giving off a beautiful glow to the horizon.

" Oh no!!! It's already this late, I gotta go back." She rubbed her forehead and walked towards the street to get a cab.

After getting back home, she tried to enter the house but the door was locked.

She remembered that she put the keys in her bag but the problem is, she didn't had her bag with her when she woke up.

She was completely empty handed.

She decided to call Josh to ask for extra keys then it hit her that her phone was also inside her bag. So, she gave up on that idea too.

She sat on the swing in the garden and waited for Josh to come back.

It was already 7 o'clock when Josh appeared.

Upon seeing the door locked, and lights off of the house,he hastily looked around, rummaged through his pocket and pulled out his phone trying to call somebody.

"You're back." Her voice echoed through the night.

He immediately recognised the voice and breathed a sign of relief.

He ran towards her in his full speed but she stopped him midway and asked him to open the door.

He made a doubtful looking face on why she was outside in this cold night but did as he was told.

After entering he asked " By the way, what were you doing outside, you didn't even turned on the lights."

( Dang!! I forgot to make an excuse for it.) She thought inwardly.

"Well!! Um, my bag was stolen so, I couldn't." "Anyway, go wash up, I'll make dinner." She spoke while dodging his eyes.

And ran towards kitchen to avoid any more questioning because how will she explain things when she herself didn't know what happened.

After having dinner, they both sat on the balcony sofa just relaxing and doing nothing.

"Oh!!! Do you know what happened today ? " He said as if he suddenly remembered something.

"What ?" She questioned.

" So many people died today."

"Oh!! really ?" She said in the (what's so new about it) tone.

" Today, total of thirteen people died mysteriously. They didn't had any serious injuries except a tiny wound or scratch on their bodies but." He stopped abruptly.

"But what ?" Now she was all ears as it sounded kinda familiar to her.

"But all of them were dead because of anemia. You know, the condition where your body stop producing or produce less red blood cells then necessary." He said all this in the most scientific tone ever.

"They all were as pale as the bed sheets. The policeman who was incharge of this case told me that there wasn't a single drop of blood on the scene for it to be murder nor did I found any poison being used on the body when I was performing autopsy." He spoke with astonishment visible on his face.

"We concluded that it was natural death but so many people died in the same day, same manner and in a same city is still weird." He kept on blabbering.

He didn't saw her changing expressions as he was too busy talking.

" Wait!! What is this ? Why am I getting the sense of déjà vu ?" The more she heard the more she felt like she knew what happened yet she couldn't pin point out on what exactly happened.

Everything was blurry in her visionaries.

After a long pondering, she still couldn't come to the conclusion so, she decided to stop overthinking and went to sleep.
