Off-putting Smile
After eating dinner, she went back to her room and suddenly she remembered she didn't get any headache like before when she was talking to them.
" Hey!!! Are you guys still there ? " She asked.
" Yeah " they both spoke turn by turn,one with enthusiasm and another with boredom.
" You guys already know the question now, answer me ?" She thought.
" Well!!! That's because you didn't refuse us unlike before." Calliope replied.
" What do you mean ?" She sounded confused.
" She meant you refused to acknowledge our existence before but this time, you accepted our presence and even communicated with us." Iggy explained the sentence.
" So, you mean I got headache because I didn't accepted you guys before." She spoke in bewilderment.
" No, you got headache because I was trying to get out and you were not letting me. I can hardly control myself when I get stimulated by the scent of blood especially when I'm starving for so long but you kept on resisting me again and again that time. So when I forcefully got out, you passed out." Iggy made tsk sound as she said that.
" A person's soul and body needs to be in harmony to work properly. So, when you rejected us it caused imbalance between us causing you to lose your consciousness. So, next time, when we say we want to come out, don't resist us, okay.
That way, you will still know what's going on outside when we take over your body." Calliope explained.
" Why you guys have to come out ?" She asked with a bit of fear in her voice because getting her body taken over sounded scary to her.
" Obviouly, to search for food, you idiot." Iggy replied quick and fast.
" For food you mean your victims." She scoffed.
"Can't you guys just not come out ? I would still like to feel this body belongs to me." She said with hesitant in her voice.
" Then you don't want to use our power." Iggy said.
"Huh ?? " She sounded baffled.
" Did you expected us to do free labour for you while we're hungry and starved ?" Iggy complained.
" So does that mean whenever you guys will be hungry you guys will take over my body and look for preys. Here I thought, I finally felt like I was living for myself." She said with unwilling written on her face.
" Don't be sad, look at the bright side now, with our powers you can do anything. You can deal with your unsolved grudges, punish those who have hurted you and your baby." They purposefully mentioned the 'baby' part.
The moment she heard about "baby " she gritted her teeth in anger. How can she forgot about her unborn child ? How can she forgot about why she needed power so badly ? How can she forgot about why she decided to change ?
" If I let go of the chances of getting my revenge from the fear of getting my body stolen then wouldn't that mean I'm still the same old coward I used to be." She thought.
" Thanks for reminding. You can do whatever you want just give me enough power to get what I want." She said in a sharp and clear tone.
" Good decision " they said.
[ Little did she knew that once she accepted their proposal on using her body, they can use it anytime, anywhere and however they want. ]
# The next day #
She woke up and went to bathroom to do her morning routine. When she was brushing her teeth she looked herself in the mirror and noticed that her eyes looked a bit stiff and intense, making her look like she lacked any emotion in her eyes.
She tried to smile to fix it but only her lips were curved not her eyes. It gave off that devilish smile making her look charming yet dangerous at the same time.
" So, they weren't kidding when they said they can change my personality. I can definitely see that. But I think they only said it effects me mentally didn't expected a physical change as well." She narrowed her eyes to check if the stiffness would go away.
" I gotta say I like this one more." She smiled once more giving off that off-putting smile again.
She checked herself left and right to see if there's anything else that changed but currently except her eyes nothing seemed to have changed. After finishing checking herself she head out.
