Noah sat in his study, fingers gripping the edge of his desk. The room was dimly lit, the only source of light. He stared into the flames outside, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts he had long buried—thoughts of her.

The woman who had once been his whole world.

The woman who had disappeared, taking the keys to his kingdom and the heart he had once worn so openly.
