The Beetle's Curiosity

Beetle's Perspective

"What is this?" Beetle reacts, looking at the new dungeon area he entered. It was full of trees and grass; it looked like a large green forest spreading across for so long that even his eyes couldn't see the end of it. He was shocked because he had never seen a place like this in a dungeon. Suddenly, his eyes caught something as he looked at the top of the dungeon. His eyes widened, and his eyebrows raised.

"So this is Skyrain," he said, looking up where there was supposed to be a rocky ceiling, but instead, there were white clouds spread across the sky. The dungeon ceiling was so high that it looked like a bit of the starry sky; the rocky dungeon ceiling was only barely visible at the very top, covered by the sky as if some kind of stone fort was hiding up there.

"Ah... currently I'm not strong enough to survive alone in Skyrain. I need to become stronger; I need a plan," Beetle said, knowing he had entered Skyrain and couldn't survive without a plan and power.

He quickly turned around and started walking back to where he came from. The road connecting to Skyrain and the road that Beetle came from looked like a big circular cave that connected to Skyrain and other areas.

After walking a bit, he returned to the place where he chose the road that led toward Skyrain. The place where Beetle was currently standing was a large open area spreading across going in every direction. This was the area where Beetle chose the way that headed toward Skyrain. The area was mixed with rock and open ground filled with big and small rocks spreading across.

The ground that Beetle stood on was a mixture of soil and rock.

"Now, which way should I go? Well, it doesn't matter, just not the way towards Skyrain," he said, starting to walk down the opposite road from Skyrain.

After walking a bit, he saw something but continued on his walk as if nothing happened. While walking, he saw a creature whose entire body was made of sparkling stones. On the ground, it was hitting someone again and again with its rock hand, which looked like a stone hammer. Each hit poured blood from the body it was attacking.

Beetle continued walking past the path where the rock creature was smashing someone's body.

"This one is a different rock monster," Beetle said, looking at the rock creature as he continued walking toward it. The rock monster didn't notice Beetle approaching from behind.

Beetle was very close to the rock monster, but it didn't see him. Suddenly, at a very close distance, Beetle passed by the rock monster. The rock monster, in shock, noticed that Beetle had just passed by him and quickly ran towards Beetle, trying to attack him before his hammer-like hand reached him.

"Smash... Bhoom..." The monster's body shattered like someone just punched him. The punch was so strong that its broken body pieces fell across like rainwater.

Without even looking back at the rock monster, Beetle continued his walk straight forward.

"Such weakling," he thought, reflecting on the rock monster he had just killed.

After killing many monsters along the way, Beetle started feeling weak. He tried to find a safe spot where he could rest and recover his energy. Suddenly, while walking on the ground, his eyes caught a straight tall pillar that looked more like a wall connecting to the dungeon ceiling above. Some parts of it jutted out, creating a small ground—a good place for hiding and resting. It was tall enough that normal monsters couldn't reach it, and there was no other way to get there without climbing the straight wall.

"This place looks good," he said, looking up at the top of the wall beneath the ceiling. He took a stance, then quickly jumped onto the wall near the pillar. Taking support from that wall, he quickly jumped again onto the pillar, then jumped on the wall again, zigzagging up. He was very high up on the pillar. Suddenly, taking support for his last jump, he leaped onto the wall one last time. While jumping, he looked at the top of the pillar where he was aiming. His eyes caught a big egg that was already there, at the place where he wanted to rest. In the middle of his jump, he quickly scanned the entire area of the top of the pillar, but there was no one around. He landed in front of the egg—the place he wanted to rest. He looked straight at the egg.

"I've never seen an egg like this," he thought. Beetle had never seen an egg that looked like the one in front of him.

He quickly moved around all the edges on the top ground where he was standing. He looked at all the creatures and monsters around him on top of the wall, but there was no one who looked like they owned this egg. Suddenly, he heard a cracking sound. He quickly jumped backward, landing in front of the egg. The crack sound was coming from the egg. Beetle looked carefully at the egg and saw a little crack forming.

"Should I kill it?" he thought, considering killing the creature inside the egg. He took a battle stance, and all his senses were on high alert, both hands ready to attack and legs ready to move.

The egg started to shake. Beetle knew the creature inside the egg could come out at any moment. The reason he was on high alert was that many creatures and monsters' newborns were very strong the moment they were born.

Seeing the shaking egg about to crack, Beetle was ready. Suddenly, the upper half of the egg fully cracked and burst, revealing the creature inside to Beetle's eyes.

The creature that emerged from the egg had four spiky legs it stood on and two spiky hands that it used to cover its eyes after hatching, along with a large head.

"What a spider..." Beetle said, looking at the creature in front of him. It was a spider.

The spider that Beetle was looking at was Arthur, who had just reincarnated as a spider. Beetle suddenly used his skill to become invisible, blending in with the dungeon light. Beetle's eyes continuously watched Arthur, who had just been reincarnated as a spider. As Arthur tried to move, Beetle was still watching him from behind. Suddenly, he noticed Arthur fall to the ground, trying to look back at something. Beetle quickly jumped onto the pillar connecting the dungeon ceiling to the ground where Arthur was standing. He suspected that Arthur, the spider, had somehow noticed him.

On the straight pillar, Beetle used his legs and hands to grip the straight surface while watching Arthur. He noticed that Arthur hadn't seen him; instead, he was looking at something else. He gazed at where Arthur's eyes were focused and was shocked to see that there were letters inside the egg where Arthur was just born.

"How is this possible?" he thought, seeing the letters inside the egg. Suddenly, in the middle of his shock, he noticed something else. The beauty of the letters was confusing to Beetle; he didn't understand what had just happened. He jumped again to ground level behind Arthur, curious about what Arthur was doing. He continually followed Arthur's movements, trying to read the letters, but the language was unfamiliar to him; he couldn't read it. He was shocked again when the letters suddenly vanished. He saw Arthur hiding the letter cover inside the ground beneath where he stood.

To Beetle, curiosity about Arthur grew more. He continued to follow Arthur, trying to discover what Arthur was doing. As he followed Arthur, he saw that Arthur was afraid of something, looking down from the edge. He also didn't understand what Arthur was saying; the language that Arthur spoke was unfamiliar to Beetle. He didn't know why Arthur was speaking to himself. Suddenly, his senses caught something, and Beetle looked at Arthur as he jumped from the top of the ground where he was standing. He landed on the ground without making any sound. In front of him, he saw a snake eating a creature, like a mouse.
