Afterwords: Volume 1

[-This is not a chapter!-]

Thank you for reading The Damn Mountain! This marks the end of Volume 1. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments and reviews. (I think I can handle most criticisms as long as they make sense... I think.)

But fret not, for this is just the beginning of the story. The journey of Destirling Shouichi will continue with ever-increasing intensity!

The secrets of Kurohashi run deep, hidden within the walls and streets of this mysterious town. There is so much left to uncover — what truly happens behind those closed doors? What does this seemingly ordinary town have in store for Shouichi? Is it all connected, forming some kind of web? So many questions remain unanswered, right? What else to do but keep reading? Hahaha!

A lot of inspiration for this story came from mangas and animes, which is why I chose the light novel format and included visual elements.

I'd also like to recommend a few anime and manga that greatly influenced this work: Boy's Abyss by Ryō Minenami for her exceptional ability to grip attention with shocking moments and nerve-wracking chapters one after another, and Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama for his pacing and brilliant storytelling (he supposedly wrote AOT backward, as many claim).

I hope you're enjoying the oddities woven into this story. There were reasons behind all those interactions — hints and foreshadowing were key for me, as well as an intricate, well-crafted, twisted plotline. Character development was something I paid extra attention to, ensuring each character had intriguing depths like Morimura Ayane and Ishikawa Misaki for example.

Lastly, I'd like to express my gratitude to my wife, who supported me throughout this journey. She patiently listened to all my ramblings about the plot for six months. Despite getting the first draft, it was an utter mess compared to the serialisation version you guys read.

Last-Lastly, as an amateur writer, this is the first story that I've written. For that, I apologise for any mistakes that may have occurred, linguistically or otherwise. I often re-read and re-edit my work overtime to ensure the quality is up to standard, so I truly appreciate your understanding and patience.

Thank you again for being part of this journey with me and see you at Volume 2!

PS: For the tragedy fans, hold your horses — because you might be in for a treat soon!
