Congratulations! You have obtained a Two Star Mouse!
A secondary notification chimed:
Congratulations on your first fusion! You are rewarded with a Two Star Reward Chest.
[Do you want to open it, Host?]
Ray blinked, his interest piqued. "Huh...? What's this now? A reward chest?"
"Open it," Ray commanded, his curiosity outweighing any need for caution.
Congratulations on opening the Two Star Reward Chest!
One Star Knife ×1
One Star Long Sword ×1
Small Leather Gloves ×2
Meat ×1 pound
The items neatly arranged themselves in his system inventory, labeled under System Space.
"Huh… rewards," Ray muttered, raising an eyebrow. "So, I get loot for every fusion?" He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "And the chest level matches the fusion level. One-star fusion gets a one-star chest, two-star fusion… higher stars mean better loot."
Ray's eyes sparkled as the possibilities unfurled before him. "If I keep combining monsters, I'll be swimming in loot. A thousand fusions… a thousand reward chests, even at one star, it's still worth something." His mind raced, calculating the potential. "I'm going to be fking rich!"
He could practically see the treasures piling up, his eyes nearly turning into gold coins at the thought. Saliva threatened to escape his mouth before he shook his head to clear his thoughts. "No, focus, Ray. It's not the time to get carried away."
Without missing a beat, Ray summoned the newly fused Two Star Mouse. In a flash, the creature materialized before him a stark contrast to its former self. Its once white fur now shimmered in a dark, almost black hue, and its claws and teeth gleamed sharper. It stood still, its purple eyes, now devoid of the earlier red glow, locked onto Ray without emotion.
"Whoa… it worked," Ray marveled, circling the creature. "I expected some undead abomination, but it's alive. Definitely alive." He leaned closer, inspecting its breath, though its eyes gave away nothing. "No emotions, though. It's like… a puppet."
Ray felt the connection between them, subtle yet strong. He knew instinctively that this mouse would obey his every command without question. He rubbed his chin again, considering. "Its abilities are still the same. No major changes except for the level… Maybe because it's just one star higher."
He shrugged. "Whatever. A two-star mouse can't do much alone. I need more."
A thought struck him, and he turned to the system screen. "Hey, system, will it work if, instead of me, my beast touches the dead monsters? Will they get taken into system space and be fused?"
The system remained silent, no response. "Guess I'll have to find out myself," Ray muttered. He felt the mental link with his mouse and issued a command. "Go down and touch the dead ones for me. And be safe."
The mouse didn't hesitate. Without any visible emotion, it turned and began descending the boulder. Its agile movements made the climb down easier than going up, and within moments, it reached the bottom.
The battlefield was still alive with chaos. The Chicken Phoenixes and the remaining Red-Eye Mice tore into each other, oblivious to the black-furred mouse navigating through the carnage. Ray watched from above, his eyes glued to the scene. His mouse moved swiftly, avoiding the scuffle, and approached a fallen chicken.
It touched the body with its front leg, and Ray's system chimed.
!Ding!
[Found the dead body of a Two Star Rooster. Take it into system space? Yes or No.]
"Fkk yeah, it worked!" Ray grinned, elated. He quickly opened the system interface to inspect the new addition.
Rooster
Cultivation: Two Star
Sex: Male
Skills: Low Short Flight, Sharp Beak, Pecking, Sharp Claw, 360-Degree Awareness
"So, male Chicken Phoenixes are called roosters, huh? Makes sense," Ray murmured, satisfied with the discovery. But one rooster alone wouldn't be enough. He needed another two-star creature to initiate the next fusion.
"Keep going," he mentally commanded the mouse. "Get me more dead monsters."
The mouse continued its work, moving seamlessly through the battlefield. After a minute, it had collected five more level one mice, another two-star rooster, and two one-star chickens.
"Good job," Ray said, a grin spreading across his face. He accessed the system space and reviewed the haul. "Alright, let's get to work."
He fused the four level one male mice first, leaving the female mouse for later.

Ray's eyes sparkled as he gazed at the new three-star mouse. It was significantly larger than its predecessors, its body exuding a faint aura of power.
"So it's possible…" Ray whispered, awe creeping into his voice. "This system isn't just some joke." A wide grin spread across his face, his excitement palpable. "Daddy's getting stronger now!" he laughed, his voice echoing through the cavern. "HA HA HA!"
