Alden leaned back in his chair, flipping through the book in front of him.

His expression was calm.

His soul? Having the time of its life.

Because right beside him, Aziel looked like he'd just been personally betrayed by the universe.

Alden stole another glance at his friend's sulking face and barely managed to hold back his laughter.

But he failed.

"Pfft—"

"Bro, it's not funny," Aziel glared at him. "You betrayed me."

"What are you talking about? I didn't do anything." Alden blinked, acting all innocent.

The lie came as naturally as breathing to him.

Before Aziel could launch into another round of complaints, his ManaSync buzzed.

He checked the message that had just arrived.

Aziel sighed and got up from the chair he was sitting on.

"I have to go now, bro. See you later."

And just like that, he walked out of the library.

Well, that was a bit too abrupt.
