Alden walked for quite a while before he came across a river.
The river's water seemed clean and pure.
His senses didn't warn him much, so it was probably drinkable.
The Aura detection ability spirit eyes had before had been assimilated as passive after in his supreme ability.
Unlike before, he didn't need to activate the skill and could sense aura passively.
He walked towards the water source as he scooped some water from it and gulped it.
He felt refreshed, feeling the cold water running down his throat.
For a brief moment, he allowed himself to relax.
Then—
Swish.
A sudden gust of wind.
His instincts screamed at him.
Alden ducked—just in time.
As an arrow flew past his head, slicing through the air cleanly.
Alden turned around to see the attacker.
His heart pounded.
Nothing.
There was no one.
No movement.
No archer.
