"More Vampires won't be coming. They already came."
Kim Seojin looked in the front, noticing a horde of Vampires blocking their path. Even behind them, there were many more Vampires that had arrived.
"There is just no end to them."
An hour had already passed since this stage began. But thanks to the number of Vampires, they were still in the outer periphery of the city.
"At this rate, we will never be able to reach the centre. And that is the least of my worries."
Seojin remembered that these were just the weakest Vampires. It was still easy to kill them but every two hours, more and more restrictions were going to be removed from the Vampires.
With time, the stronger Vampires were going to come out, until the strongest City Lord was freed. Before that happened, they had to finish the task at hand.
"We can't keep going like this. We need a change of plan."
He looked at his surroundings while the Vampires slowly closed in on them.
"Keep the Vampires busy for some time. I will be right back!" Lee Taehyung stated, surprising Seojin.
After telling Seojin, he ran into the alley that was closed on the other end.
He did not stay in the alley. Instead, he grabbed the window and started climbing the building.
After killing the Vampires, his level had also increased by a lot. And with his experience and stats, it was very easy for him to climb a building.
"As expected of a Regressor. I had a feeling he would have a method. I'm quite curious to see what method he will come up with. But until then..."
Seojin shifted his attention to the Vampires around him.
The Vampires were not like Zombies. They were beginner vampires but they still had their sanity, albeit their intelligence was limited.
Only High Tier Vampires were truly intelligent.
Beginner Vampires could not use any abilities other than their physical traits that were enhanced due to their bloodline.
Because of limited intelligence, the Vampires did not try to follow Lee Taehyung. All of them were focused on Seojin.
"Keep them busy, he said. Huh. Easier said than done."
Seojin could see that there were over a hundred Vampires on both sides. Even if they could not use any special skills like higher vampires, they were not weak.
"Despite that, I can't fail here, can I?"
He firmly held the rusted sword in his hand before taking a deep breath.
"Battle Guidance."
He used the only useful skill that could help him in battle, entering a phase most suited for battle.
A thin thread appeared before him, but there wasn't just one thread now. There were hundreds of threads that he could see. All of these were the paths he could take for the battle as a starting point.
"Although I am jealous of Taehyung's skill, this isn't half bad either."
With each swing of his rusted sword, he moved with a grace and precision that seemed almost otherworldly. However, he was simply following the Guidance, letting his body move with the flow.
He did not think about anything else. He did not think about dying here. He did not think about failing. There was only one thing before him, the threads. The rest of the world had just phased out for him.
At that moment, he wasn't a human. Nor was he a warrior. He was an Oracle, who could see what others could not.
The sound of metal meeting flesh was heard as he killed one vampire after another.
His movements were fluid, yet they looked calculated.
It was as if he could see their attacks, sidestepping their lunges and countering with deadly strikes.
His strikes landed with deadly accuracy, severing limbs and decapitating his foes. The vampires, though numerous, were no match for Seojin's skill.
As the battle raged on, Seojin's focus never wavered. He moved with a clear goal, his every action deliberate and efficient.
His sword cleaved through the air, leaving a trail of fallen vampires in its wake.
With each swing of his sword, a trail of blood was also left behind, creating a beautiful scenery around him. It was truly like the most beautiful dance of sword.
Blood stained his clothes, but Seojin remained unconcerned. The scent of iron filled the air, mingling with the sounds of blood gushing out and heads falling on the ground.
The vampires, driven by their insatiable thirst for blood, lunged at him relentlessly. But Seojin met their attacks head-on, his sword dancing with deadly precision.
Time seemed to slow as Seojin fought on, his movements becoming a blur. His eyes gleamed with a mix of focus and defiance, as if challenging the vampires to come at him with their best.
And one by one, they fell before him as their life force was extinguished.
The battle seemed endless, but Seojin did not notice.
[Level +1]
[Level +1]
Notifications of his level increasing kept resounding in his head, but he did not even register it. He was in a completely different zone.
Every time his level increased, his stamina also recovered which helped him even more. His stamina never faltered.
He fought for every inch, pushing back the horde of vampires with sheer power. With each swing of his sword, he carved a path through the sea of darkness.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the last vampire fell at Seojin's feet. He stood amidst the silence, his chest heaving with exertion.
With all the enemies dead, the thin thread of guidance also disappeared. Seojin came to his senses, noticing his surroundings.
The once bustling street was now littered with the remains of the Vampires. Seojin wiped the sweat from his brow, a satisfied smile gracing his lips.
"I really need some new clothes. The scent of blood is so bad."
His sword was completely turned red with blood. But the same was the case for his clothes.
While he was relishing the fact that he had ended one battle, he heard more footsteps.
He sighed deeply, noticing even more Vampires coming from the distance.
"There is truly no end to them."
He raised his sword for another battle.
"Are you out there on a picnic? Come, we have to go to the City Center."
Just as Seojin prepared for another battle, he heard Lee Taehyung's voice.
He located the source of the Voice and frowned.
"That's your idea?"
