[You have cast Vine trap Lv. 10]

It has been sixty-four days since I met Rodrick and his group. It took a lot of convincing from them, but I agreed to stay in their camp. I didn't want to deal with others all that much. I missed being around others, but this situation resembles the one in the apocalypse movies and books. And a lot of them, the people can go mad and start killing others themselves or worse. I only agreed to stay if I'm not considered a permanent resident. I don't want to owe people I don't know or trust. If this was before the system and whatever happened to all of us, I might trust others a little more. Emphasize on might. No intentions in modern times are always pure. People use people, and it's not always for the good of others or themselves. More often than not, it's for self-satisfaction for the darkest side of their personality.

Although I did learn more, isolating myself while interacting with the camp has possibly improved my survival odds. I discovered that at the first level, yes, you are supposed not to have a gap of more than ten between the highest and lowest stat, although the gap increases by intervals of ten at each level. I tested it out, but can't force myself to get close to others.

So, I decided to trust myself because I can only experience betrayal if I fail to trust myself. This bloody trial will change people and bring out the worst of the worst. My father, a Batman fan, had one of his favorite lines, although I don't remember who said it. Maybe it was the character that became Two Face? That's not the point. The quote is, "You either die a hero or see yourself become the villain."

Looking ahead of me, the monster became ensnared in the trap spell.

"They keep getting stronger. Damn it."

[You have killed a Crying Crane Lv. 23]

The monsters in the forest are getting to the point that everyone in the camp will die if they don't level up. Returning to my prior thoughts, I looked up into the sky as my status screen popped up, a quote I clutched onto to hold back my will to grow attached to others. While also making me less trusting of others. "Power corrupts and absolute power Corrupst absolutely."
