The sun timidly peeked through the curtains of Miria's bedroom as she opened her eyes. The soft ringing of her phone alarm marked the start of a new day. She got up quickly, knowing she had a lot to do. Her mother was leaving for an important business trip, and she wanted to help her get ready before taking care of herself.
In the kitchen, Miria found her mother already busy checking her documents. She helped prepare a quick breakfast and then assisted in finishing up the packing. Her mother, stressed but grateful, thanked her before leaving the house to catch a taxi.
Miria hurried to get ready for school. Once she was done, she took one last look at her watch before heading out. Before going to the bus stop, she stopped by Lyle's place to take care of something important, though she struggled to focus on their conversation. Her mind was still clouded by a recent discovery. She quickly left Lyle's and made her way to the bus stop.
When the bus arrived, Miria got on and sat by a window. Her thoughts swirled around what she had just learned. She didn't even notice her friend Marlie arriving and sitting beside her.
— "Miria, are you okay?" Marlie asked, looking at her with concern.
Miria forced a smile.
— "Yes, I'm fine," she replied lightly.
Marlie frowned, clearly unconvinced, but chose not to press the issue.
When the bus reached school, the two friends got off and started walking toward their class. On the way, they ran into Axel, Marlie's boyfriend.
— "Hey, Miria," Axel greeted her with a smile before turning to Marlie and giving her a kiss. "I missed you," he murmured softly.
Miria gave a faint smile.
— "If I'm interrupting, I can leave," she offered.
— "Not at all," Axel replied, dismissing the idea. "I'll walk you both to class."
They continued their walk together. Upon arriving, Axel kissed Marlie on the cheek before letting her join Miria.
Across the classroom, Isolde, a girl with long blonde hair, made a loud comment.
— "It's cute that Axel walks you to class, Marlie. And you, Miria, where's your boyfriend? Don't tell me he's still with his ex, Isabella?"
Her remark triggered laughter among the girls around her. Marlie, ready to respond, was interrupted by Miria.
— "Let it go," she murmured calmly.
Classes went by without major incidents, and soon, the lunch break arrived. Miria and Marlie found an empty table to eat at, but they were soon joined by Axel, Gale, Ray, Diana, and Klaus.
Throughout the conversation, Miria remained silent, lost in thought. Eventually, Diana asked:
— "Miria, are you okay?"
— "Yes, I'm fine," she replied, though her tone betrayed a certain distance.
After the break, everyone headed to their next class. Miria shared this class with Ray and Diana. Ray, excited, walked beside Miria, visibly happy to spend time with her.
— "It's nice to have class together, right?" he said with a smile.
Miria nodded distractedly but didn't respond. Diana exchanged a worried glance with Ray.
— "I bet it's because of what Isolde said this morning," Diana murmured.
Ray frowned, wanting to know more, but the class started before he could ask any further questions.
Midway through the lesson, Miria suddenly felt very weak. Her vision blurred, and before she could warn anyone, she fainted.
The classroom erupted into chaos, and Ray, panicked, helped Diana carry Miria to the infirmary.
The day had taken an unexpected turn, and a sense of worry settled among those who cared about Miria.
