"Yes, it's very confusing."
"But my most important question, sir, is how could one man have done this? And is it really just one person, or could it be an unknown organization we know nothing about?" This was the most pressing question for him.
His gaze shifted to the large window on his left. "Well, only Akriod Kalar has the answer," Akriod answered with a cold tone and boredom on his face, he wanted to avoid any further questions and also wanted to avoid raising any suspicions, especially since Ronan had started asking about very sensitive matters.
"The innocent souls of the Arkan people demand justice and cannot be forgotten at any cost." Ronan's inner hatred for Akriod Kalar was overwhelming, driven by the destruction that had claimed the lives of every innocent soul.
Akriod cast a fleeting side glance at Ronan's sorrowful state.
He felt neither resentment nor sympathy for him—only cold indifference.
Still, he did not blame Ronan for his anger; after all, any ordinary person would feel the same under such circumstances.
"Okay, enough talking about this, did you get the information about what happened?" He decided to change the subject.
"Yes, I almost forgot, sir. After hearing from the soldiers who accompanied you to the Agard family mansion about what happened, I ordered a few soldiers to head to the Democratic Security Forces headquarters and inform them to initiate the necessary investigation."
He added, clenching his fists tightly, "I cannot describe how relieved I am to have you here alive and well, my lord. Leaving the mansion yesterday was a fortunate decision. Had you stayed, something would have happened that could have led to your death. Losing the last member of the great Agard family would have been a disaster for us."
Was Inar's copy in that mansion before I arrived in the future!... He muttered to himself.
"But I heard something strange, that there is the name Akriod in the mansion? Could this be a coincidence, sir!"
Even Akriod didn't have a clear answer to this question, so he stood up from his seat and said, "Well, I can't give you a specific answer. The name is similar to the war criminal's name, but I don't know why it was written on my family's mansion. So, send everything to the Democratic Security Forces and leave the investigation in their hands."
It was a good opportunity for him to leverage his current position to uncover the identity of this mysterious person.
"And I want you to tell them to send a team of their forces, if they can, to the Theocracy to inform them of what we have found—especially since it matches the name of the war criminal they are looking for," He added as he looked out the window at the moonlight among the stars.
By sending the Democracy team, he was hoping to find out whether the unknown person who wrote the name Akriod had any connection to the Northern Theocracy in revealing his existence and identity, or if it was just a plan by the Theocracy.
He stood up enthusiastically and said with a smile, "Of course they can, leave it to me, I will go myself tomorrow... So excuse me now, sir."
As he was leaving, Akriod turned, "Ronan."
"Yes?"
"You can take the golden file, I no longer need it." After knowing all its contents, it no longer had any value to him.
After he left, Akriod was alone looking at the sky, with its full moon, as his thoughts flew across the pages of the recent past...
