Ch49: The Last Stand

"Will this work?" Slater asked, somewhat doubtful. His breath was heavy as he carefully observed the battle situation. They were outnumbered, and dark creatures kept coming endlessly.

V shook her head, focusing on channeling the glowing silver light in her hand. She placed it on Slater's back. "I've never tried this before. I have no idea what kind of power this is, but as long as I can use it to help, aid, or fix what's broken, I'll do it. There's no harm in trying, right?

"I can only hope this works." V continued, smiling brightly, believing in good hope. "You'd better focus on keeping your shield active so that the mana overheating you're experiencing can recover rapidly."

But swiftly, Slater could feel his stamina increase, a huge surge of energy flowing through all his veins. The same happened to Asmodeus, the sacred deer guardian, and all the villagers of Tales in Spring who were within Slater's water shield.
