The sky above her head was gloomy as snow continuously fell upon them without mercy. She looked to be living on top rocky grounds that oversaw a much more level ground of houses with blue roofs.
Evangeline leaned on the golden railings of her balcony impressed at the sight. Houses and buildings spread far and wide into the distance, and it looked like they were divided and surrounded by three ice walls.
Interesting.
This really gave out the feeling of living in a very peculiar fantasy world.
A world void of humans and dominated by powerful beings no one thought was real.
She felt like she could stare at this world all day and never get bored by it. At a far distance, she could make out the shadowy outlines of those tall, dark trees that these people seemed to be so afraid of.
''Ree-ree, what do you think about this place?'' She asked before she remembered that staying in this world cost her connection with her invisible lover. A sad tear formed in her eyes when nothing moved or that the gentle feel of the warmth he carried and caressed her cheeks with occasionally was gone.
She suddenly hated the view and this world. It makes her sick to the bone, and she quickly wanted to be out of it and return to her real body.
She moved away from the balcony and journeyed back to her luxurious room, pacing back and forth in thought.
How did she even land herself in this mess in the first place?
She got run over by a car and everything just went blank from there! She was even starting to doubt the possibility of dying before she got sent to this world and into this body!
It was crazy when no one was giving her answers as to why she was even sent to this world in the first place.
What happened to her body after this, and where did the real occupant of this body go to?
It wouldn't take long before the people notices it that she is not really their little pampered werewolf prince but a scam!
What then would befall her?
How would she explain herself to them that she had no say in this unholy switch of both worlds and bodies?
Who would even believe her when she says she was not from this world to start with. If the roles were reversed and someone walked up to her and says he is not from this world—she would also open her big mouth as wide as she could and make a mockery of the insane individual.
It would have also been better if she woke up with the memories of Evangeline. That way, it wouldn't be so hard to fit in until she found a way to return and reconnect with Ree-ree.
She continued her movements back and forth, not knowing what else to do or where to go from here.
Is it even possible to find a way back home in this place? Should she leave when no one is around her to watch?
No, don't leave.
She stiffened when that entity living rent-free in her head spoke to her again. At first, she thought she was just hearing things or hallucinating or one of the side effects of jumping into a body that's not yours.
It's so scary out there. We won't survive on our own should we leave home.
Evangeline blinked as that entity said wise things to her. She then wanted to ask who or what this entity living in her head was when the doors to her room swung open. She turned around to be met once again with the smiley faces of her ghost-like companions who wheeled inside a trolley she assumed was loaded with food in those covered golden pots and trays.
Her stomach grumbled again. It's about time they stopped starving her.
''Oh, she's awake again!'' One of them literally bounced on her feet at the sight of her. The other one just glared and told her to control herself before the princess.
''We figured you might be hungry since you've been sleeping for so long now. We told one of the chefs to fix you a light meal and came here with the intentions of waking you up to eat something.''
The more serious one said and gave her a small but genuine smile.
''I baked you one of those moon cakes myself! Your favorites!'' The jovial one added and continued to bounce while being rooted to a spot.
''Don't worry, Eva. That was the only imaginary dish she prepared. The others were made by the chef while I assisted and supervised. They're safe to eat.''
''Hey–''
Layla just chuckled and began to wheel the crate filled of food she was sure she wouldn't be able to eat.
I mean, you can't find MC Donald's here.
She just hoped it was digestible and didn't kill her before she found her way back to where she belonged.
They sat her down on the bed and were more than nice enough to began serving her a portion of the food they got her. Then, Evangeline began wondering who they were and how close they are to the real owner of this body to be treated like this by them.
She is yet to know their names, and it would be so weird if she'd just asked them who they were.
The more jovial one fell on the seat beside her while the other served them three plates of what actually looked yummy and surprisingly appetizing.
''One plate of unhealthy deliciousness for Sisi.''
Sisi cheered while receiving her plate with a big smile on her face.
Sisi. She noted.
''Thank–you.''
''One plate of healthy nutritious veggies for Eva.''
Veggies???
She reluctantly received the plate while savoring what was on Sisi's plate.
''And a bowl of sour soup for Layla.''
''A bowl of sour soup for Layla.''
Sisi weirdly repeated beside her as Layla settled on her left with a bowl that also looked more appetizing than hers. Which made her wonder if Evangeline was strictly a vegetarian judging by her plate.
The three of them sat on the edge of her bed as Sisi happily devoured her plate and Layla looked more composed as she ate.
Evangeline slowly picked up her fork and took a bite of the steamy hot vegetables. She then nodded her head in approval when it was not as bad as she anticipated. Who knew Vegetables could weirdly taste so much like chicken in this abnormal world?
