Nicholas successfully dragged me inside. I felt so out of place. This wasn't my kind of place. I didn't want to be here at all.
Some friends waved at Nicholas. He walked us to them, and I could see them staring at me. They didn't even have the shame to look away. The least they could do was glance once and look away, but they didn't stop, and I expected Nicholas to caution them, but he didn't. He held my hand.
"Look who finally brought a woman," one of them said. They seemed to be close, judging by the way they were talking. Nicholas rolled his eyes. "Sit," he said to me, and I did as I was told. He sat down beside me too.
I got introduced to them, and they seemed nice. I should learn not to judge a book by its cover. It's high time I stopped judging. They didn't give me that chill that Nicholas gives; they seemed friendly, unlike him.
