Chapter 49

Liam was here! I heard a knock on my door. I answered, and Emily walked in. She was looking too gorgeous in a blue gown. Her blue eyes complemented the dress so well.

"My goodness! You look so pretty in this dress!" she said, gawking at my gown.

I chuckled. "Thanks. I was about to say the same to you too."

"It fits you so well. That's a dress my brother gifted me. He'll be so happy if he finds out that someone actually liked it," she said, and then a look of guilt passed through her eyes.

"You have a brother?" I asked.

She nodded. "Yeah, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me, but work took him away from me."

She pouted. I chuckled. "That's hilarious to know. I'm sure he cares so much for you."

She shrugged. "I'll definitely invite him over tomorrow. Right now, we have to leave. Liam will get tired of waiting," she reminded.
