Chapter 59

"Seems like you saw a ghost," I heard Nicholas say. I turned to look at him.

"I need to be back," I said and got out and went out. I ran as fast as I could before Emily leaves, because she leaves on time. I ran as fast as I could to check her office, but she wasn't there. I ran to Liam's, but he wasn't there either. I was told they'd all left. I felt bad because I really wanted to speak my mind. How could she assume something like that? I'm like them? Really? Is that the only thing she can come up with? Is she even for real?

I went back to the office.

"You sure you're good?" Nicholas kept asking. He seemed worried about me. Now I feel so bad right now.

"You know you can share what the issue is with me, right?" he said to me, and I heaved a sigh.

"Emily isn't happy with me. She thinks I've abandoned her."

"Isn't she that dimwit's sister?" he asked. I gave him a dirty look.
