Just a Gathering

It is the first week of September. Louis is now in 1st grade, he is no more a tiny little baby right? It is Friday and I don't have work this afternoon, so I just stayed home taking care of the house and myself. At 3 p.m. today Louis' friends will come with their parents to hang out, then the kids will have a sleepover. I was really excited and I got everything ready to receive them. I suddenly received a text from Narine's mother at 2:30 p.m saying that she would have someone else drop off Narine. I did not know who I was expecting but the person's phone number seemed déjà vu.

"Hi, good afternoon." I greeted the mother's and guardians welcoming them into the house. The last person who came in was Narine and her guardian, "Hi Nari, how are you?" I greeted Nari,

 "Ini manmin, I missed coming to your house." She smiled, "This is my mom's good friend, Annaelle.". 

Looking up ready to greet Nari's guardian, I could see no one else but my husband's grandmother's 'granddaughter' Annaelle. "Hi, I am Irina, please come in." I smiled at her letting them into the house. Maybe it is fate, I was doomed to meet her everywhere from now on. I walked back inside the house after closing the door behind me. Nari had already gone playing with her little friends, Annaelle was sitting in the living room with the other moms. "It has been a long time since we all gathered like this." said Katelyn, Nicolas' mother. Nicolas is Louis' best friend. "Indeed." I replied. 

"Marine, please serve the drink." I asked Marine as I sat down on the couch. 

We spent time together getting to know each other, talking about everything and nothing. An hour into the gathering, Marine and the other maids arrived to serve the food and drinks. "Guys come eat." Katelyn called the kids in for the meal. 

While the kids were coming in my husband's mother arrived. I walked up to her as soon as I saw her. " Aunt, you are here?" I greeted her, "What is going on in here?" she asked, 

"Every month I have a gathering for Louis and all his friends in the purpose of bringing them closer." I replied, " You arrived just in time for the meal." I smiled, 

"Hm." she sneered. 

Everyone sat down with their food, my husband's mother went to the kitchen and came back with a glass of orange juice. She then walked up to Annaelle and they started a conversation with her.

 The gathering was now over. "Good bye, thanks for coming." I greeted Katelyn out. When she left, only Narine and her guardian were still there. "Louis, go take a bath."

I walked back into the living room, the maids were cleaning up the house, I was tired and decided to go upstairs to refresh. As I stepped on the staircase I heard a glass shattering. I turned around to see what happened. Annaelle was laying on the ground unconscious. Narine ran to her side. "What's going on?" I asked Narine while running to the living room. "I don't know, she just fainted. " she answered frightened, "Let's take her to the hospital first, then I will send you home. Okay?" I suggested. "Okay." she replied.
