Now inside the elegant hotel suite with her, Darren stood in silence, his gaze fixed on Rachel.

He looked at her for a moment, studying her carefully. Even though it has been almost a full day since she left Gareth, Darren could see she was still panicky.

He saw the way her fingers tapped continuously on the back of her palm, the way her chest rose and fell in controlled breaths, but most of all, the uncertainty in her eyes. Despite her calm exterior, he could see it. Fear.

"You look scared," he finally said with a low and deliberate voice low. "You shouldn't

worry. I told you to trust me."

Rachel's lips parted slightly before she gave a small nod. "I do trust you."

Darren's eyes lingered on her for a moment.

He said nothing more and shifted his attention to the room.
