Chapter 27: Unspoken Jealousy
**Sebastian's POV**
After I confessed that I liked Jasmin, she started avoiding me. Every time I tried to approach her, she'd walk away.
I just can't understand that girl!
She should even be thankful that I like her. She's lucky, really...
But I'm not sure yet if I just like her or if it's something more than that. And I don't even know why those words came out of my mouth.
I was walking around, looking for Jasmin. Tsk! That girl—did she seriously hide from me?
My face lit up when I finally saw her sitting beside Grace. She was smiling while watching Uncle Pedro sing and dance.
I was about to approach her when someone blocked my path. It was Jacob!
He looked at me seriously.
"What do you want from Jasmin?" he asked.
"What business is it of yours?" I replied. I was about to leave when he grabbed my arm.
"I know you people from Manila. You just play around with girls like Jasmin—"
I removed his hand from my arm and glared at him.
"And what if I do? Don't act like you're her boyfriend!" I said smugly.
He grabbed my collar quickly. "If you hurt her—"
I firmly grabbed his hand, twisting it to make him let go of me.
"Don't threaten me because I'm not afraid of you! And as for Jasmin, she's mine! Don't even think about courting her or whatever it is you're planning, because I won't let you have her!" I declared, then let go of his hand.
I left him and walked toward where Jasmin was sitting.
I stood behind her, not too far away. My gaze shifted to Jacob, who was glaring at me while holding his twisted hand.
"So, who's next to sing?" Mang Pedro asked cheerfully, holding the mic.
He scanned the crowd and stopped at Jacob.
"Jacob? Why don't you sing for us?" he said with a smile.

Jacob started singing, his eyes fixed solely on Jasmin.

He approached Jasmin, who was sitting at the side, while her friends teased her. He extended his hand to her, inviting her to stand up.
Encouraged by her friends, who were squealing with excitement, she had no choice but to accept Jacob's hand.
He led her to the center as he continued singing.

Sebastian stood at a distance, fists clenched, his gaze locked on the two.

He couldn't take his eyes off them, especially Jasmin, who was smiling at Jacob.
'Why doesn't she smile at me like that when I'm with her?' Sebastian thought.

As Jacob finished singing, the crowd erupted into applause and cheers.
"Kiss!"
"Kiss!"
"Kiss!" the crowd chanted.
"They're asking for a kiss," Jacob said to Jasmin.
She glanced at her friends, who were still cheering, and then noticed Sebastian standing in the corner, watching her intently.
She had been avoiding him all night because of what he said earlier. She couldn't believe he was serious. Why would someone like Sebastian Grayson like her? She was just a simple, poor girl from the province who had taken her chances in Manila.
There was nothing special about her for someone like him to fall for her.
"Kyaaaaahhh!"
Her thoughts were interrupted when Jacob suddenly kissed her on the cheek.
The crowd, especially her friends, erupted into deafening cheers. Embarrassed, she returned to her seat while her friends, particularly Grace, continued teasing her.
This was supposed to be Grace's party, but once again, Jasmin had become the center of attention.
She decided to ignore them and let the celebration continue.
Grace's parents gave a short message for her and her husband, Mathew. Some of Grace's close friends also gave speeches, including Jasmin, who had been her childhood friend.
Afterward, the dancing began. Jasmin, however, remained seated, happily watching her friend dance with her husband.
Her eyes scanned the room for Sebastian, but he was nowhere to be found. She wondered where he had gone.
She decided to stand up and look for him, but Jacob stopped her and pulled her to the dance floor.
"May I have this dance?" Jacob asked, extending his hand.
She gave him a small smile and accepted his hand.
As they danced, Jasmin couldn't focus on Jacob. Instead, she found herself worrying about Sebastian.
She should've been happy that he had finally left her alone. But instead, she felt a growing concern for him.
