Skye's Perspective
To my dismay, Alanna seized my arm with unexpected force. Before I could react, she pulled me towards the lake's edge.
"Everything's gone wrong because of you, Skye," she snarled, her voice quivering with rage. "If you hadn't informed your brother about my return, he wouldn't have ended our relationship," she growled, teeth clenched.
"And if you hadn't left, Derick would have proposed on my birthday! Why did you come back? He was starting to move on—why did you have to mess everything up again?"
It seemed Alanna was just as delusional as Derick in her persistence.
After listening to her tirade, I broke free from her grip and stood firm.
"Alanna, I don't owe you anything. This situation? It's your own creation. Perhaps you should consider why people don't care for you, instead of blaming others."
My response only enraged her further. With a powerful shove, she pushed me into the frigid, dark waters of the lake.
