Dylan's pov
"How about we have a match this evening?" Lan asked me. Well he's the only guy that I feel comfortable with for now.
Lan and I met at the party. We became close after a few drinks.
"Sounds super. 4pm cool?" I asked him
" Sure. Hey isn't that Liah and Sophie?" He asked and I followed his line of sight and finally saw the girl who avoids me as if I was a plague.
Seems like her eyes had been on me because immediately I turned to look at her, our eyes met. Our eyes locked for a few seconds before she looked away.
"Look how beautiful Sophie is. I wish I can have a chance with her." Lan said to me
" I think Liah is more beautiful." I replied to him
"Come on man. I know Liah is pretty but she can't be compared to Sophie. There's a big difference can't you see?" He said and I rolled my eyes at him.
Who says Sophie is more beautiful than Liah. He's just blabbering nonsense.
I noticed Liah stealing glances at me, well she need not do that because I'm going to sit with her anyways and she can stare all she wants.
"Let's join them." I said to Lan and went to get my food. After getting our order, we carried our trays of food to their table.
"Mind if we join you?" I asked.
"Of course not. Sit, youu don't need to ask." Sophie said. Liah didn't even look up from her food. I sighed silently.
We took our seat opposite them and I stared at Liah who still haven't looked away from her food.
"Liah?" I called her name softly but it seems she didn't hear me or should I say she pretended not to.
"Liah." I raised my voice a little this time and she finally looked up. She raised her brows as she looked at me.
As I looked into her beautiful blue eyes I forgot whatever it was I wanted to tell her. I wish I could tell her how beautiful she is.
Her beautiful eyes drowned me in them mercilessly and I know I looked like a fool right now but I just can't help it.
No girl have ever made me feel this way, then what's all this about?
"Hey man, stop staring would you?" I heard Lan's voice and I realized I was looking like a fool.
"Uuhm sorry. How's the food?" I asked like the most stupid person in the world.
"Uuh, nice I guess." She replied with a sarcastic smile on her face and I wanted to smack my own face. I heard Lan chuckling next to him and I glared at him.
"Sophie, are you enjoying the food? Is there any other thing you want?" Lan asked Sophie
I turned to Sophie and saw as she replied shyly,
" Not really, I'm good" she said and looked at me shyly and I rolled my eyes in my head. Why is she blushing while looking at me, I'm not the one asking her the question for goodness sake.
I turned to Liah again and thought of how to strike a conversation with her. But before I could open my mouth and utter a word, she blurted "Sophie I'm full. I should get to class now, you can meet me when you are done" I looked at the unfinished food on her plate. It looked like she didn't eat much.
"What? You are leaving? But you didn't finish your food, I thought you said you were starving ". Sophie said to her with a puzzled look on her face.
Wait. She was starving? Then why is she leaving her food without finishing it? Then it struck me. She was feeling uncomfortable sitting with me.
"I suddenly remembered something and lost my appetite. Catch ya later guys." I watched as she stood up and started leaving. I also stood up and rushed after her.
"Dylan where are you going?" Lan called out to me and I turned midway to him
"Finish without me" I replied him and I saw the look on his and Sophie's faces not like I give a damn.
I finally caught up with her at the door.
I grabbed her hand and turned her to look at me.
"What's your problem with me?" I asked her sounding hurt. She looked at me with her mouth open as if she was shocked I followed her. I know she didn't expect me to follow her.
"Huh. Why did you follow me? You should be having lunch." She said
"Answer my question first. The party, the dance floor, the classroom room, why are you avoiding me?" I asked her. I need to know why, I need to know why she keeps on avoiding me. Do I irritate her or what?
"Avoid you? I'm not avoiding you." She said
"Then why are you leaving the cafeteria? Why did you leave your food unfinished?" I asked her.
She removed her hand from mine and looked into my eyes
"I..... um....um..." She stuttered
"Can you stop avoiding me please?" I asked as I saw as she looked at me with shock. I know I might sound and look like some kind of fool right now, I know I have only known her for a few days but right now I want to be more than friends with now. I know it sounds absurd since we are not even friends yet but this is just how I feel. It is what I want.
"Can you stop avoiding me?" I repeated when she said nothing. I need her to answer me, she has to.
