Chapter 27: The Lucky Emperor's Treasure

"All that remains is to craft the D-rank socks, boiler, glasses, hairpin, and large bath bucket," Logan muttered. Socks were a daily necessity, while the glasses would be mostly for show. The boiler and bath bucket were extremely useful. As for the hairpin, he planned to give it to MorganBlossom. He had promised not to damage her things, but ended up shredding them. This hairpin, a D-rank weapon that could also serve as an accessory, might serve as an apology. Besides, MorganBlossom had helped him in the district chat and had never used truly foul language at him—a sign of decent character in Logan's view.

Heading to the warehouse, Logan decided to see if he could trade some graded item for another. He carried his only Green Shell out into a central clearing, took the Azure Essence Bead, and placed it on top. Then he stepped back, Breeze Sword in one hand and a Dragonshell carapace in the other—just in case something hostile emerged.

A teal aura flickered above the shell, which began to open and shut slowly. Amazingly, even in the torrential rain, not a single drop touched the shell's surface, as though repelled by an invisible barrier.

To Logan's relief, nothing monstrous crawled out. Instead, a pile of items lay inside. This Green Shell was an unopened treasure from his first day, and he regretted not opening it sooner. Perhaps if he'd realized he was "The Lucky Emperor," he wouldn't have had to scrape by all these days, coming close to death more than once.

He saw a dazzling collection of graded items inside, so amazing he suspected it might be a dream. Pinching his leg until pain shot through it, he confirmed it was real.

"Hahaha! Hahaha!" he cackled, chest heaving with wild glee. He didn't even mind getting soaked by the rain, rejoicing like a lunatic.

A system prompt snapped him out of his frenzy:

Contract Card: Lets you contract a person or creature that willingly accepts. The contracted party must obey unconditionally. If they are more than two major realms stronger than you, the contract fails.

Universal Pixie: Currently in an egg-like form. Smear eggshell with your blood, then infuse Five Elements Spirit Stone energy to hatch and bind it. (Note: Pixies can communicate telepathically with the host and wield mysterious abilities. They can evolve.)

Logan could barely contain himself. These items were beyond valuable. The only catch was how expensive the Flame Dragon Cannon would be to operate. It seemed too small to be something called a "cannon," barely a meter long—like a handheld launcher. Still, it was an A-rank weapon. Absolutely lethal.

He moved everything into his cabin's warehouse. The moment he finished, the Green Shell dissolved into a fine powder, vanishing as if it had never existed.
