Chapter 8

As they began their meal, Chén Lónɡ and Chairman Liáng savored the exquisite flavors of the Golden Dragon's Breath. The dish was a masterful blend of tender meats, golden noodles, and crisp vegetables, all infused with a subtle yet fiery spice that left a lingering tingle on the palate.

The Golden Phoenix rice wine, with its rich, golden hue, complemented the meal perfectly. Chén Lónɡ poured a small amount into his cup, admiring the way the light danced through the liquid. He took a sip, feeling the smooth, velvety texture coat his tongue.

Chairman Liáng, meanwhile, couldn't help but notice the envious glances from the other patrons. He leaned in, his voice low. "Mr. Chén, I must say, you have a flair for the dramatic. This meal, the wine... it's all so... extravagant."

Chén Lónɡ smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I merely appreciate the finer things in life, Chairman Liáng. And I'm happy to share them with my... associates."

As they continued their meal, the chairman's eyes darted around the restaurant, taking in the opulent decor and the wealthy patrons all looking enviously towards their table.

Soon Chén Lónɡ sets his cup down, his eyes locking onto Chairman Liáng's. "I'm sure you know why I've asked to meet with you, Chairman Liáng," he said, his voice direct and to the point.

Chairman Liáng nodded, his expression serious. "Yes, Mr. Chén. I believe you wish to discuss the possibility of acquiring JinHai Auto Parts."

Chén Lónɡ nodded, his eyes never leaving the chairman's face. "That's correct. I'm interested in purchasing your company, and I'm willing to make a very generous offer."

Chairman Liáng leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together. "I'm listening, Mr. Chén. Let's hear your offer ."

Chén Lónɡ leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "Before we discuss the details of the acquisition, I'd like to know why JinHai Auto Parts is failing so miserably. What's going on, Chairman Liáng?"

Chairman Liáng shifted uncomfortably, clearing his throat. "Well, Mr. Chén, it's a combination of factors. The market has been tough, and we've faced increased competition from other manufacturers..."

Chén Lónɡ raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "Stop lying, Chairman Liáng," he said, his voice firm but calm. "I'm not interested in hearing excuses. Tell me the truth."

Chairman Liáng's face flushed, and he looked away, his eyes darting around the room. He sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "Fine, Mr. Chén. If you must know, I... I had an affair with my brother's wife. One it got out the backlash and stigma from that have ruined my reputation with our customers, and the company has been failing ever since."

Chén Lónɡ nodded, his expression unreadable. He took a sip from his cup, the sound of the liquid being swallowed the only sound at the table for a moment.

Chairman Liáng looked at him, his eyes searching for condemnation or disgust. But instead, Chén Lónɡ's expression was neutral. "I wouldn't be too bothered by that, Chairman Liáng," he said, his voice matter-of-fact.

Chairman Liáng's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "What do you mean, Mr. Chén?" he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.

Chén Lónɡ smiled, a cold, calculating glint in his eye. "Money has a way of changing things, Chairman Liáng. Reputation, loyalty, morality... all these things can be bought and sold. And I'm willing to bet that JinHai Auto Parts is worth more to me than it is to you."

Chén Lónɡ placed his cup down on the table, his eyes locked onto Chairman Liáng's. "I'd like to make you an offer, Chairman Liáng," he said, his voice firm and decisive. "I'd like to buy the 60 percent of the shares on for JinHai Auto Parts."

Chairman Liáng's eyes widened slightly, his expression thoughtful. He leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as he pondered the situation.

"I'd also like you to continue running the company," Chén Lónɡ continued. "You'll report directly to me, and I'll expect regular updates on the company's progress."

Chairman Liáng's eyes narrowed, his brow furrowed in concentration. He seemed to be weighing his options, considering the pros and cons of Chén Lónɡ's offer.

The silence between them stretched out, the only sound the soft hum of conversation from the other patrons in the restaurant. Chén Lónɡ waited patiently, his eyes never leaving Chairman Liáng's face.

Finally, Chairman Liáng spoke, his voice low and measured. "I'm not sure, Mr. Chén," he said. "I need some time to think about it."

Chén Lónɡ nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "I expected as much, Chairman Liáng," he said. "Take all the time you need. But I warn you, my offer won't be on the table forever."

Chairman Liáng nodded, a decisive look on his face. "Alright, Mr. Chén. I accept your offer. I'll sell you 65 percent instead of the sixty of JinHai Auto Parts' shares."

He pulled out his phone and made a quick call. "Send them in," he said, before hanging up.

A few minutes later, a well-dressed lawyer arrived, carrying a thick contract and accompanied by a representative from the Jade Bank. The representative looked at Chairman Liáng, then turned to Chén Lónɡ.

"Chairman Chén?" the representative said, his voice filled with respect as he bowed. Chairman Liáng's eyes widened in surprise. "Chairman?" he repeated, his voice hesitant.

The bank representative nodded, a look of profound respect on his face . "Yes Mr. Lóng is now the new chairman of the Jade Bank he acquired it a few hours ago," he explained.

Chairman Liáng's face paled as he bowed to Chén Lónɡ. "Honoured Chairman," he said, his voice filled with respect. "I didn't know... how stupid of me to just sell you 65 percent of my company shares! I'll offer you 80 percent! Instead".

Chén Lónɡ smiled, seemingly pleased with the offer. He reached for the contract offered by the lawyer, his eyes scanning the pages with a practiced ease. After a moment, he nodded, satisfied, and signed the contract with a flourish.

He handed the contract to the lawyer, who took it with a bow. Then, Chén Lónɡ handed his bank card to the bank representative Who bowed taking the card.

Soon his fingers began flying across the keypad of his terminal. After a moment, he looked up. "The total price of the transaction is 800 million yuan," he announced.

Chén Lónɡ nodded, his expression calm. The bank representative swiped the card, and the terminal beeped, indicating that the transaction was complete.

The bank representative bowed, handing the card back to Chén Lónɡ. "Thank you, Chairman Chén," he said, his voice respectful. "The transaction is complete."

Vice chairman Liáng bowed deeply, his voice filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Chairman Chén. I am honored to serve under your leadership."

Chén Lónɡ smiled, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "You're welcome, Vice-Chairman Liáng," he said, his voice firm but polite. "I expect great things from you and JinHai Auto Parts."

Chén Lónɡ paused, his eyes narrowing in thought. "Do you know of any large car manufacturers that are selling?" he asked, his voice casual.

Vice-Chairman Liáng and the others exchanged glances, before the vice-chairman nodded. "Actually, Chairman Chén, I know of one. The Gyangdong Motors Corporation is looking to sell their assets. They've been struggling financially, and their shareholders are eager to cut their losses."

Chén Lónɡ's face lit up with a smile. "I have a plan," he said, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

A few hours passed, and the sound of pens scratching on paper, phones ringing, and deals being made filled the air. Chén Lónɡ's team worked swiftly to finalize the acquisition.

Finally, the deal was done. And soon Chén Lónɡ stood in front of a sprawling car factory, shaking hands with the previous owner of the Guangdong Motors Corporation.

The man smiled and congratulated him, but Chén Lónɡ barely heard the words. He was too busy smiling in triumph, his mind racing with the endless possibilities he smiled up into the night sky.

"My journey has truly just begun", he thought, his golden eyes gleaming with ambition.
