Chapter 60: Bloodbath at the Huang Estate

Chapter 60: Bloodbath at the Huang Estate

"Who goes there?"

Patrolling martial artists within the Huang estate spotted the group of black-clad, masked intruders rushing into the family compound. Panic flashed across their faces.

"Kill!"

A cold, commanding voice rang out from beneath one of the masks, revealing a resolute, handsome face. At once, over a dozen Purple Palace Realm experts surged forward. Blades and swords flashed, and within moments, the five Huang family guards fell with anguished cries—some decapitated, others pierced through the throat.

The screams shattered the stillness of the night, sharp and jarring. The noise alarmed other Huang family practitioners, who began pouring out of their rooms, weapons in hand.

"Groups of ten! Kill all Huang family martial artists without exception," Mu Feng ordered icily.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The two hundred Mu family warriors split into teams and fanned out, attacking the Huang family's various residences.

A Huang family disciple barely had time to draw his weapon before a sharp sword thrust forward.

Thud!

The blade pierced his throat, and he fell to the ground, clutching at his neck, his eyes wide in disbelief.

"Aaah!"

Behind him, a woman in her nightgown screamed, her face pale with terror.

The black-clad Mu family warrior ignored her, pulling his blood-stained sword free and rushing with the others toward the next room.

In the courtyard, Mu Feng, Mu Kuang, Bai Ziyue, and Mu Zhong stood watching the carnage unfold.

Slash!

In the distance, a Huang family disciple was cleaved in half by a blade's energy, his blood and entrails spilling out.

Ugh!

The sight was too much for Bai Ziyue. Already pale, he turned and vomited, his legs trembling beneath him.

It was his first time witnessing such bloodshed, the grim reality of the martial path laid bare.

Mu Feng and Mu Kuang, by contrast, remained composed.

"Ziyue, do you regret this?" Mu Feng asked, his hands clasped behind his back as he surveyed the slaughter.

Wiping his mouth, Bai Ziyue steadied himself, though his face was still pale. "Brother Feng, I do not regret it," he replied.

"The martial world is like this," Mu Feng said, his tone distant. "The path of cultivation is drenched in blood. This world has no true justice or rules—only power. The strongest fist decides the law. What you're seeing now is but a glimpse of it."

Mu Feng's gaze held a depth far beyond his years.

"Villains, how dare you!"

A furious roar rang out. A middle-aged man in a blue robe, surrounded by a fiery red protective aura, charged from the courtyard. With a powerful palm strike, he targeted a Mu family disciple.

Boom!

"Argh!"

The disciple was flung back seven or eight meters, his body charred where the strike landed. Blood and fragments of his organs spilled from his mouth as his life ended.

Nearby Purple Palace Realm disciples roared in anger and charged the Qi Condensation Realm elder of the Huang family. But the elder's strength was formidable; wielding a ghost-headed saber, he cut down another Mu family disciple in a single strike.

"Kill!"

Two Mu family Qi Condensation Realm elders sprang into action, their weapons flashing as they joined the fray. Against two opponents, the Huang family elder struggled to defend himself. After a brief exchange, one of the Mu elders severed his arm, and the other drove a sword through his head, ending his life.

The battle's outcome was inevitable. The Huang family forces crumbled. Their five Qi Condensation Realm experts, including the former family head, were all slain, leaving little resistance.

In a distant courtyard room, two figures were entwined on a bed. A one-armed young man was still engaged with a beautiful maid when the sounds of screams and clashing weapons erupted outside.

"What the hell is going on?" Huang Yi cursed as he climbed off the woman, glaring toward the commotion.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Young Master! Something terrible has happened—intruders have broken into the estate!" a panicked voice called from outside.

"What? Intruders?" Huang Yi's face turned pale. Hastily dressing, he grabbed a sheathed sword and stepped outside. The maid cowered under the blanket, trembling.

Huang Yi threw open the courtyard gate and demanded, "What's going on?"

Before the guard could answer, thud! a blood-stained blade pierced through the man's chest, the tip emerging from his heart. Huang Yi stumbled back in horror.

Three Mu family disciples stormed into the courtyard, their cold gazes locking onto Huang Yi.

"Don't kill me! I'll give you anything you want—just spare me!" Huang Yi pleaded, retreating in fear.

"The young master wants this one alive. Take him!" one of the Mu disciples commanded.

The other two approached, one driving a sword through Huang Yi's shoulder to cripple him. Dragging the injured man, they brought him before Mu Feng.

"Kneel!"

A swift kick to the back of his legs forced Huang Yi to the ground.

"Who are you people? I'm the young master of the Huang family! If you dare kill me, my father will avenge me!" Huang Yi threatened, his voice trembling.

"Your father?" Mu Feng sneered. "Huang Yi, your father is already on his way to the underworld."

The familiar voice sent a chill through Huang Yi. "Who… who are you?" he stammered, terrified.

Mu Feng pulled down his mask, revealing a face Huang Yi knew all too well.

"Mu Feng! It's you—Mu Feng!" Huang Yi roared, trying to rise, but was held firmly in place.

"Huang Yi," Mu Feng said coldly, "everyone must pay for their mistakes. Your family's greatest mistake was targeting the Mu family and seizing our goods. Today, I'll make sure you understand that."

Turning to Bai Ziyue, Mu Feng continued, "Ziyue, you kill him."

"What? Me? Brother Feng, I…" Bai Ziyue hesitated, gripping his sword but unable to move forward.

"If you want to follow me," Mu Feng said, his tone calm yet unyielding, "you must be prepared to face mountains of corpses and seas of blood. One day, you too might become nothing but bones. If you cannot kill, I will give you gold and let you live an ordinary life."

"No, Brother Feng! Don't cast me aside. I'll do it—I'll kill him!" Bai Ziyue said, panic in his voice.

"Release him," Mu Feng ordered. The Mu disciples stepped back, allowing Huang Yi to pick up his sword.

Huang Yi's eyes burned with hatred as he gripped his weapon, knowing there was no escape. If he had to die, he would take someone down with him.

The two faced each other, swords drawn. Bai Ziyue's hesitation melted away as his gaze turned cold.

"Die!" Huang Yi roared, leaping forward with a thrust aimed directly at Bai Ziyue's head.
