Chapter 90: Killing the Fire Jiao at its Weakest

Chapter 90: Killing the Fire Jiao at its Weakest

The intense battle between the man and the Jiao resulted in mutual injuries, leaving Mu Feng astonished.

Seizing the opportunity, Mu Feng hurried towards the mountain where the fight had taken place. Since the entire area was part of the Fire Jiao's territory, there were no other beasts around. Encountering no danger along the way, Mu Feng arrived at the location where Liu Yixue and the Jiao had fallen after about ten minutes.

In the yellow pine forest, Mu Feng found Liu Yixue, who had fallen unconscious. Her delicate palace dress, seemingly made of special material, was surprisingly intact despite her harsh landing.

Lying on the forest floor, Liu Yixue was gravely injured and unconscious. Mu Feng quickly held her in his arms. Seeing her flawless face so close, he couldn't help but recall the captivating scene he had witnessed in the hot spring, and his thoughts began to wander.

Shaking his head, Mu Feng pinched his own leg and smiled bitterly. "What am I thinking? Wan'er is still waiting for me."

He took out a healing pill and placed it in Liu Yixue's mouth, helping her swallow it with some water from his pouch. After ensuring she was stable on a soft patch of forest floor, Mu Feng turned toward the location where the Fire Jiao had fallen.

The Fire Jiao, gravely injured, had crashed into the forest, breaking trees and leaving pools of steaming blood. Its neck bore a massive wound inflicted by Liu Yixue's sword, and a powerful sword aura was still wreaking havoc within its body.

As Mu Feng approached, he realized just how massive the creature was. Its body, as thick as a house, stretched dozens of meters long. Standing before it, Mu Feng was like an ant.

"Be careful. The Fire Jiao isn't dead yet," a sudden voice warned in his mind.

"Xiyue, you're awake," Mu Feng replied internally.

Xiyue, who often remained dormant within the Shura Divine Jade to heal her soul, seemed alert now.

"Yes, but what's going on here? How is there a wounded Fire Jiao here?"

Mu Feng briefly explained the situation. His eyes gleamed with anticipation as he said, "Xiyue, if the Shura Divine Jade absorbs this Fire Jiao, it should restore a lot of energy, right?"

"Indeed. This is quite a decent opportunity. Also, the Jiao's essence blood can help the young White Jiao evolve into a true dragon," Xiyue confirmed.

With a cold smile, Mu Feng leaped onto the Fire Jiao's neck, gripping his blade tightly. "If it's not dead yet, let's make sure it stays that way."

He thrust his blade into the Jiao's neck.

"Clang!"

A metallic sound echoed as the blade struck the Jiao's scales but failed to leave a mark.

"Damn! Its defense is insane!" Frustrated, Mu Feng tried stabbing it several more times, but his efforts were in vain.

"The Jiao's scales are as strong as a spirit armor. Use the Shura Blood God Blade and aim for its wounds if you want to kill it," Xiyue advised.

Nodding, Mu Feng jumped down and approached the massive wound on the Jiao's neck, where blood was still gushing out.

Placing a second-tier Blood Pill in his mouth, he refined it into energy and channeled it into the Shura Divine Jade. Activating its divine patterns, the jade transformed into a massive blood-red blade shrouded in killing intent.

With this blade, Mu Feng plunged it into the wound.

"Roar!"

The unconscious Fire Jiao let out a low growl of pain, its golden eyes snapping open to glare at Mu Feng.

Startled, Mu Feng yanked the blade out and jumped back.

"You dare wound me?" the Fire Jiao growled, its massive body struggling to rise. But with a loud crash, it collapsed again, its internal organs ravaged by the residual sword aura.

Seeing the Jiao fall back, Mu Feng exhaled in relief and approached with the Shura Blood God Blade.

The Fire Jiao glared at him, its tone icy. "Leave now, or I'll devour you."

"Devour me? Look at you—you can't even stand. Let me end your misery instead," Mu Feng sneered. Driving the blade deeper into the wound, he poured all his energy into the weapon, unleashing a blood-colored blade aura.

"Squelch!"

Scalding blood gushed out, splattering onto Mu Feng, who winced in pain from the burning heat.

"Ah! I'll kill you!" the Fire Jiao howled in agony. Fear filled its eyes as the blade aura severed its heart.

With its dying strength, the Jiao thrashed, slamming Mu Feng into a yellow pine tree. He spat out blood, stunned by its vitality.

The Jiao roared, gathering red energy in its mouth to unleash a final dragon flame. However, as it raised its head, its life force rapidly drained, and it collapsed, lifeless.

A semi-transparent Jiao-shaped soul emerged from its body, glaring venomously at Mu Feng. "If I must die, I'll drag you to hell with me!"

The soul charged at Mu Feng, aiming to shatter his fragile spirit and take him down together.

But at that moment, a graceful figure emerged from the Shura Blood God Blade. With her moon-white dress and ethereal beauty, Xiyue exuded a noble aura.

"A mere soul dares act so arrogantly?" she scoffed, waving her hand. A golden light shot into the Jiao's soul.

"Agh!" the Jiao's soul let out a pained wail, its form dimming as it stared at Xiyue in terror.

"A primordial soul? How could someone of your caliber exist in such a remote place?"

As the Jiao's soul dissipated, it transformed into pure soul energy, which Xiyue absorbed with a faint smile before returning to the blade.

"Thank you, Xiyue," Mu Feng said gratefully, realizing she had just saved his life.

"Be more careful. I need to refine the soul energy," Xiyue replied before falling silent again.

Mu Feng turned to the Fire Jiao's corpse. From his arms, the small White Jiao, Xiao Tian, darted out, its form enlarging as it eyed the body eagerly. It slithered into the corpse through the wound.

Ignoring Xiao Tian for now, Mu Feng swallowed a Blood Pill to restore his energy. Activating the Shura Blood God Blade had drained him completely.

After a while, Xiao Tian emerged, covered in blood, carrying the Jiao's massive heart in its mouth.
