Chapter 143: Not Treating Her as a Woman
The three senior students charged at Mu Feng, but Mu Kuang and Bai Ziyue were quick to intercept them. Both sprang to their feet, ready for battle.
A black-clad student, his body enveloped in elemental energy, launched a powerful punch at Mu Kuang, showcasing his strength at the seventh stage of the Purple Mansion Realm.
Mu Kuang smirked, meeting the blow head-on with his own fist. A dull boom echoed as the black-clad student staggered backward several steps, staring at Mu Kuang in shock. Mu Kuang, by contrast, barely moved half a step.
"Not enough strength, senior. Care to try again?" Mu Kuang taunted, his mocking grin deepening.
The black-clad student's face darkened with anger. He stomped forward, channeling his energy into his fist, and unleashed a blue, glowing punch.
Mu Kuang roared, his own fists glowing with a yellow light. He retaliated with a technique called Rolling Stone Fist, his punches emitting the rumbling sound of rolling boulders as they clashed with the blue punch.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The yellow fist energy shattered the incoming blue energy like a hammer breaking glass. Mu Kuang's punches overwhelmed the black-clad student, forcing him onto the defensive.
Desperate, the black-clad student lashed out with a sweeping kick aimed at Mu Kuang's head, his leg reinforced with energy to crush stone and shatter steel.
Mu Kuang blocked the kick with one arm and, like a viper striking its prey, caught the student's leg with his free hand. When the black-clad student attempted another kick, this time landing on Mu Kuang's shoulder, he was shocked to see the blow bounce off, completely nullified by Mu Kuang's energy shield.
With a savage growl, Mu Kuang slammed the student into a table, splintering it into fragments. The black-clad student spat blood before Mu Kuang stomped on his abdomen, leaving him writhing and clutching his stomach in agony.
Meanwhile, Bai Ziyue faced another senior armed with a dagger. The attacker lunged at Bai Ziyue's chest, but Bai Ziyue countered with a swift, precise strike of his sheathed sword, deflecting the blade.
Undeterred, the senior slid low, aiming to slash Bai Ziyue's legs. But Bai Ziyue flipped gracefully into the air, avoiding the attack. Upon landing, he launched a flurry of rapid strikes, his sheathed sword moving like a nest of venomous vipers, forcing the senior onto the defensive.
The clash of weapons resounded as the senior struggled to block Bai Ziyue's relentless assault. Finally, Bai Ziyue's sword struck with precision, sending the dagger flying. A follow-up strike smashed into the senior's mouth, shattering his teeth with a resounding crack.
The senior screamed in pain, clutching his face, only to be kicked in the chest by Bai Ziyue. He tumbled backward, crashing into another table.
The last senior charged directly at Mu Feng, who stood calmly beside Yun Qingwan. As the attacker approached, a fiery aura began to radiate from Mu Feng's body, filling the air with oppressive heat.
The senior struck first, slashing with a golden energy blade, but Mu Feng countered with a fiery punch that disintegrated the attack on impact.
Letting go of Yun Qingwan's hand, Mu Feng dashed forward with startling speed. The senior tried to block with a palm strike, but Mu Feng twisted his body mid-air, effortlessly dodging before unleashing his counter.
"Nine Flames Explosive Fist!"
Mu Feng's fist, wreathed in flames, slammed into the senior's hand with bone-shattering force. A loud crack echoed as the senior was sent flying several meters, clutching his broken hand and screaming in pain.
Chu Fei'er watched, wide-eyed and stunned, as her companions were swiftly defeated in a matter of seconds.
"How are they this strong? Are they really freshmen?" someone murmured.
"This is bold. They've provoked Chu Fei'er, and she's not just anyone. Her brother, Chu Mang, is a top-ranking fighter in the academy's Wind and Cloud Leaderboard!"
With the seniors subdued, Mu Feng, Bai Ziyue, and Mu Kuang turned their attention to Chu Fei'er. She stepped back instinctively, fear flickering in her eyes.
"What are you going to do?" she demanded, her voice shaking.
The three surrounded her, and Bai Ziyue gave her a deliberate once-over, smirking mischievously. "Brother Feng, this girl isn't bad-looking," he teased.
"Don't you dare touch me!" Chu Fei'er shrieked. "My brother, Chu Mang, is a top fighter on the Wind and Cloud Leaderboard. If you lay a hand on me, you're dead!"
Mu Feng's eyes narrowed coldly. "I don't like hitting women, but don't force me to stop treating you like one."
His icy gaze made Chu Fei'er shiver. She felt a chill run down her spine despite her bravado.
"Feng," Yun Qingwan said softly, tugging at his arm. "Let it go. I've heard of Chu Mang—he's ranked in the top twenty of the leaderboard."
"Consider yourself lucky," Mu Feng said, his voice dripping with disdain.
Chu Fei'er, emboldened, sneered. "You'd better watch your back, you cheap—"
Slap!
A resounding slap silenced her, leaving her cheek bright red and stinging. The sound echoed through the dining hall, drawing gasps from the crowd.
"You—You hit me! You actually hit me!" Chu Fei'er shrieked, clutching her face as tears welled in her eyes.
"That slap is for your filthy mouth," Mu Feng said coldly. "I warned you not to make me stop seeing you as a woman."
The hall fell silent, and Yun Qingwan squeezed Mu Feng's hand, her heart swelling with emotion. This is how a man should be, she thought. No matter their background, anyone who disrespects me should pay the price.
"These fools ruined our appetite," Mu Feng said, gently brushing Yun Qingwan's hair. "Let's go."
The group left without sparing Chu Fei'er another glance.
The dining hall erupted in whispers as they departed.
"Wow, he really slapped Chu Fei'er. He's in serious trouble now."
"Yeah, Chu Mang dotes on his sister. Those freshmen have no idea what they're in for."
But some smirked with satisfaction. "Still, it's about time someone taught that arrogant girl a lesson."
Chu Fei'er stood rooted in place, her face burning with both anger and shame. Her wounded companions silently gathered around her, their heads lowered.
"You useless idiots!" she screamed. "Find out who those freshmen are. I want their names, and I want my brother to deal with them!"
