Turned off forever, Man and Machine.

Gary is startled awake by the loud banging on his bedroom door. Groaning, he rolls over, trying to ignore it, but the knocking just gets louder. He pulls the pillow over his ears but it's still loud enough to hear clearly.

"Gary! Are you still in bed?" His mom's voice echoes through the door. "Get up! It's already late! You'll be late for work."

"Mom!" Gary grumbles, pulling himself out of bed and rubbing his eyes. "Eric is on vacation, remember? I don't have to rush into work today. I'm free to start late."

His mom is far from satisfied. "Vacation or not, you still have work! You can't lie around all day like a teenager. You're a grown man. You should be focused on your career and thinking about getting married!" she says, her voice laced with frustration.
