Xia Yuqing dabbed her lips with a napkin and leaned back in her chair, completely satisfied. "Well, that was a great meal. Thank you for the treat, Mr. Lu. Now, if you're done trying to impress me, would you kindly send me back to my office?"
Lu Jinchen, who had been calmly sipping his tea, didn't even glance up. "No."
She blinked, caught off guard. "No?"
He placed his cup down slowly. His fingers, long and controlled, tapped lightly against the rim before he met her gaze. "We are going somewhere else."
Xia Yuqing leaned forward, her eyes narrowing. "Where?"
He didn't answer. Instead, he rose smoothly from his chair and buttoned his suit jacket, signaling the conversation was over. "Let's go."
Xia Yuqing pursed her lips. "You know, a normal person would say 'thank you for your time' and let me go on my merry way."
Lu Jinchen raised a single brow, a faint, amused smile tugging at his lips. "Do I look normal to you?"
