Chapter 26: Moving out
Dylan let her hug him as they both sat on floor in silence.
"See. I am fine" Isabella assured him again. Dylan felt her leaning against his back.
He took a look at his shadow. Nothing abnormal. "This ghost has got a brain Isa" Dylan said.
Isabella chuckled, but her hand warmly held his.
Dylan turned around and gently moved her collar away. Few scratched were bleeding, but nothing apart from them looked weird.
"Let's go to hospital." Dylan said as he helped her up. Isabella too agreed and they both soon boarded a cab.
She took a overall check up first, and the doctor said she was lacking red blood cells. Isabella was calm since she guessed this. She was on her periods, and her bleeding was always heavy.
But the man behind her started making a fuss about it. Dylan didn't know the reason, and hence started relating it to the ghost.
It was not until the doctor told him to restrain himself for a few days and keep her warm to avoid cramps did he understand why there was a blood loss. Apparently, the doctor thought it was his artwork on the girl's neck.
The check up completed pretty fast, and they both thought of walking back home.
"Stop frowning. You look like an old man"
Dylan finally smiled for the first time in the night. This brought a smile on Isabella's face too.
"I believe you." she said and held his hand.
"Really?"
Isabella nodded sincerely. "Yes. When have I not believed you?"
Dylan released a grateful sigh. He didn't want to think of himself as insane.
"I will buy you a new ring." Dylan declared, making Isabella blush.
She previously bought it for herself, but him buying it for her is different right? She tried not to smile, but didn't reject the idea either.
"Dylan."
"Hmm?"
Isabella bit her lips and hesitated to say something. She wanted him to agree on what she was about to say.
"What?" Dylan prompted again. What did she want to say?
"Both of us got campus employment for next semester. It pays better than our part times. I was thinking of renting a better place."
Saying this, Isabella waited as she maintained a straight face. Dylan tilted his head in confusion. Is she implying that she will move out soon? But she also mentioned him.
Dylan bit the inside of cheek to not smile. So she wanted to share a new place with him. Nice. He liked the idea. He will find a 1BHK flat for them. They still had time to move out.
He planned on confessing his feeling properly and then move in as boy friend and girl friend. They can share same bed. Hehehe.
While all these naughty ideas were running in his head, his face remained emotionless and serious. As if he still didn't get the point.
Isabella pursed her lips looking at his expression. What a dumb guy.
"What I am saying, we both can afford a better place together." Isabella explained.
Dylan 'oh'ed, as if hit by realization. But he wanted to play. "I see. I will think about it. No hurries."
Saying that, he walked ahead in satisfaction. He wanted to move out to. Though there current place had security, it was not peaceful. Someone would blast the music in the middle of the night, or someone else would start shouting after getting drunk.
Isabella looked at his back in exasperation. How dare he?
"Dylan.. You idiot. Wait." Isabella ran behind him.
"Dylan. How dare you show this attitude to me. Huh?" She snapped as she jumped onto his back and started playfully strangling his head. Dylan started laughing as he supported her on his back.
"How dare you walk ahead of a princess. I can behead you for this disrespect." Isabella gave him a playful glare.
Dylan played along. "Indeed. This peasant was wrong. I beg mercy your highness."
HONK.. HONK.. HONKKK...
Both of them turned around to see who the honking idiot was. There was not much traffic on the road. Can't they simply pass?
A radium color sports car stopped right beside them and Benjamin got down with a smirk. Only god knows why he was wearing sun glasses even in the night.
"Hello Isabella. It's been a while" Benjamin greeted and winked at Isabella. Isabella rolled her eyes and got off Dylan's back. She didn't want to talk to this man at all. He was disgusting.
Benjamin didn't get offended. After all, if she would smile and greet him back, it wouldn't be Isabella anymore.
"You are still so arrogant. I wonder if you would be still so proud if my dearest brother hadn't saved you." saying this, he finally took a look at Dylan.
How can he not know why Dylan wanted to confiscate his devices? He simply wanted to see how far Dylan would go to protect her.
Isabella clenched her fists. This rotten man made her suffer for a while.
Dylan had somehow deleted all the videos. She didn't ask everything, but she knew even Grayson doesn't have any copies right now. But if he hasn't, then she would have been even more miserable.
"Why are you here?" Dylan asked calmly. How come whenever they are in a sweet moment, someone or the other crashes it?
"None of your business."
He turned towards Isabella again. He gazed her up and down before speaking. "Now you know I wasn't joking, right?"
"Grayson was just a trailer. I will give you another chance. If you are stubborn, you will end up even more miserable." Benjamin warned with a smile.
Isabella unconsciously fisted Dylan's shirt hearing Benjamin's threats. Dylan sensed her fear and anger.
"You can leave if you are done." Isabella dismissed him immediately. Even if she was scared, she wasn't going to show that to him.
Benjamin chuckled. This is why he wanted her.
"Another rejection. Not bad. This time I will make sure even this adopted kid will be disgusted with yo - PUNCH.."
Dylan punched him in face, enraged by his words.
"Shut up and fu*k off" Dylan muttered, his jaws gritting.
Isabella hurriedly pulled him back, worrying Benjamin might punch him for a pay back. But Benjamin simply chuckled as he wiped off the blood from the corner of his cracked lips.
"Be careful brother. I might take it out on your precious princess later." He laughed and drove away.
Dylan was fuming in anger.
"Tch. He is a nutcase. Forget about him."
"Forget? Didn't you hear what all he spouting?"
"Dylan. Stop thinking about him. We have our finals now. Let us not get deviated." Isabella reminded. They were students, and they needed to study and make a career. They cannot afford to get into these useless fights.
Of course she will take care of herself. But that doesn't mean she will hide in a locker.
