Rock in a sword fight

Clemens had enough today.

He was trying very hard not to kill everyone in this rot-forsaken city, but the inhabitants of this place looked like they clearly had a death wish.

Did they not understand what Him and his 'friends' were capable of? They could clearly kill most of the people present in the town square until the guards arrived and being one of the rot-blessed, Clemens and his 'friends' wouldn't even be harmed but the residents didn't seem to understand this idea.

Even the so called 'friends' of his were no more than useless baggage, assigned to him only for the purpose of increasing the numbers.

They hardly ever had any control over themselves and their actions, taking care of them was worse than taking care of wild rabid dogs.

Their group consisted of 3 Humans, inclueing Clemens himself, 2 Angran twins and a Taurian, all blessed of the rot itself.

Everyone other than himself had a screw lose in their head, they were acting like they were suffering from something which had no cure? It was already proved everywhere that rot-blessed could not be infected from any kind of disease so why act like they are suffering at all, being a Rotted is already a thing to be proud about, they shouldn't tarnish their reputation acting like low-tempered brats.

And that itch in his skin wasn't subsiding at all.

But more than anything, he was surprised the most when he found out that an Ascended was a part of their task this time.

Indeed, with his help, their sacred task will hardly have any problems, maybe none at all? Only rot knows.

The itch under his skin wasn't decreasing.

Trying to focus on his task was hard, yet with his willpower trained over a decade,he was reputable for having a solid ironclad will.

But these damn mortals weren't letting him do his task, and especially those damn rats in the city, Why can't they be like the Rotted Angrans, full of the revered beauty of the rot inside the body.

It seemed like the sun was about to set, yet the number of people had diminished quite a lot pretty early tonight, was it a curfew today? why did they disappear so early today?

Seeing the crowd declining, Clemens didn't see any reason to sit there and was planning to move away to their usual hiding place, but then some Mortal Angrans came and started arguing with Adren.

Adren was a Rotted Angran along with Rodol in his small clique, both of their cunning which they were known for had decreased a lot nowadays, their emotions speaking more than their logic, it seemed like they were going crazy.

That damn itch was getting too much, Clemens felt like peeling the skin of the Mortal Angrans, maybe a bit from Adren too? he wouldn't mind, would he?

Taking a deep breath, He tried to say something, yet the Angrans noticing something, quickly ran away.

His 'friends' thought they had scared the ratkins away, but he was sure they wouldn't be running away this fast for no reason, they clearly were surprised by something too.

Following the gaze of one of them, he turned back, only to see a Human emerge from behind the fountain.

It was a black haired youth, walking towards them with a smile on his mouth, yet the strange thing about him was the sheathed sword on his body, along with a rope hanging from his pants and a gun in his hand.

It was clearly bewildering that someone was allowed to carry weapons in this city other than the Guards or the knights.

Seeing his reaction, the rest of his 'friends' saw the Human appearing too, yet no one was on guard, because what was the point? they wouldn't die anyway, the itch won't go, whatever he does, and they'll always be rotting eitherway.

The youth put the gun in his other hand, and asked with his easygoing smile,"Would you like to see a magic trick, my cabbages?"

Clemens was clearly bewildered for some seconds and couldn't understand how to respond. Was there no one normal in this city? What kind of magic trick would he show armed to the brink? It looked more like he was going to hunt wild beasts.

Taking a deep breath again, to calm himself, he asked,"What kind of magic trick will you be showing with a gun in your hand...?"

Deep down Clemens was thinking, wondering if the young man in front of him was actually a madman who thought he could challenge six undying beings like himself while being all alone, would he?

The youth looked at Clemens with a certain intensity in his eyes and without saying anything pressed the trigger, the barrel aimed at Clemens' head.

Clemens was clearly befuddled, he was atleast expecting the Human to say something, in hopes of distracting them, yet the shot was too sudden and Clemens couldn't dodge.

For a second it seemed like nothing had happened and then Clemens dropped down, his surroundings turning dark.

***

Archie standing opposite to the 5 living and 1 'dead' Rotted, put the gun in his clothes, unsheathed the sword and muttered under his breath,"That one seems like the leader."

The group was taken by a lot of surprise by his sudden magic trick and still didn't understand what was happening, yet as the realisation dawned upon them, their shock turned into anger as their emotions already had a hold of their body.

Shouting curses, they started to move towards him,yet Archie was more focused on the 'dead' body on the ground, with a gaping hole on the head, around the head putrid brain matter all over the ground already showing signs of mild decay yet as seconds passed it started to squirm and slowly move towards the gaping hole.

Focusing back on the still living, he saw that the Angrans were picking up rocks from below to use as makeshift weapons, while the Taurian was starting to charge towards him with head looking down, his horns pointed forward.

One of the remaining two humans was already running at him, while the other one was just standing and screaming curses, it seemed that she thought she wasn't really needed to do anything with so many of her friends already attacking the Human.

Archie despite his outside appearance wasn't that confident in taking them all at the same time, yet now there wasn't any other option or any time to think about anything else.

Shaking his head to fully focus his mind, he saw that the human running towards him was dangerously close, taking his chance he stabbed his sword on the rotted's knee which made the latter falter on his foot and almost lose his stepping, yet the crazy undying ignored the pain and tried to jump on Archie from one leg.

Yet Archie only needed that one moment of the human faltering, taking advantage of that he moved to the left of the staggering rotted and grabbed one of his arm.

Using the enemy's jumping momentum as a tool, he dragged him by the arm in a semi-circle and threw him to the charging Taurian.

The Taurian was a half-bovine , half-man one of the several species found in the world, they had several forms, and this one in specific resembled Humans more with hands made for gripping with fingers and thumbs, and head of a bull with sharp horns.

Currently the said Taurian was charging at the enemy, yet despite his half human body, his head was still that of a mad bull and hence he couldn't see anything in front when charging forward.

Due to his apparent trait, he didn't see that the enemy had thrown one of his allies towards him, so he continued running at his highest speed skewering his ally with his sharp, pointy horn.

Archie meanwhile was pleased with his clever strategy of using the momentum of both the enemies and hence didn't see that the Taurian was still moving despite his skewered friend on his horn.

But as soon as he saw the charging Taurian, it was too late and the enemy was already almost in front of him, making a quick decision, he took 2 more steps to the side and raised his sword trying to block the horn from piercing him.

Luckily the sharp horn was deflected due to the sword, but the force of the charging Taurian still hurt him causing Archie to fall backwards on his back, the sword still in his hand.

The Taurian continued charging, with his ally on its horn and both fell into the water fountain.

Taking a deep breath and caressing his throbbing hands, he tried to stand up, but just at that moment, a stone hit him on the shoulder making him wince.

Glancing to his left,at the source of thrown rock, he saw that it was one of the two Angran and the second one was already in the process of throwing another rock.

Rolling on the ground to evade the projectile, he quickly stood up and started running towards the Angrans cursing all the while at the rocks,"Damned rats, why don't they fight like proper men and stop using rocks in a sword fight."

Snickering at his own hypocrisy at using guns and sword against unarmed foe, he reached the Angran twins all the while trying to dodge the thrown rocks, still getting hit by several.

As soon as he reached near one, he swung his silver sword towards the eyes of one of them and stabbed it through its screaming mouth into the brain.

Yet just then, one more rock hit him from the right on his temple, making him stagger a bit, glaring at the enraged Angran who was in fury because of his sibling being stabbed in the brain, he said,"I'll kill you the most tonight for all these rocks."

Hearing the words, the Angran started screeching in fury and forgetting the rocks, tried to attack with his sharp fangs and nails, yet both were met by a sharp blade causing the Angran to back away in pain.

Smirking at the Angran, He said with a voice full of mockery,"This is just the beginning, you'll learn not to use rocks in a sword fight tonight."
