Board Meeting On going.....10:05am Same-day.....
Tosin : ( bows.. immediately she entered the meeting hall) good morning, sirs...I sincerely apologize for being so late.
Chief Kalu : ( in anger) you are supposed to be here before everybody else..
Chief Jacobs : this is what happens when you put little children in charge.
Tosin : (bows again) I apologize, sir..it won't happen again..
Hon.Philip : are you people seriously bullying a child?
Chief Adams : Nobody is bullying anybody here..chief Kalu was only trying to caution the girl..
Head Nurse : that is no way to caution a child.
Chief Kalu : who invited you into this conversation? eeh Head Nurse?
Chief Jacobs : maybe... because of this little position that was given to her...she thinks she can open her mouth when ever she pleases...
Sola : gentlemen...can we please get to the main reason we are here??
Chief Adams : ( to chief Kalu) did she just Refer to us as gentlemen?
Chief Jacobs : ( Shakes his head) Children of nowadays...
Chief Kalu : if only Chief Mike didn't allow his little Minions into the board meeting...she wouldn't have referred to Old men like us... as gentlemen
Chief Jacobs : lack of home training....
Sola : I beg your pardon..Mr. Jacobs.
Chief Kalu : ( in a high tune) will you put some respect in that name..
Chief Falodun : (hits his hands on the table loudly) Enough..
Chief Adams : caution your Children...Chief Falodun.
Sola : you started speaking rudely to us first...you don't...
Chief Falodun : (Cuts her off) Dr. Abisola...that is enough..(to tosin) why were you late?
Tosin : I was speaking with a patient..and lost track of time...I am so sorry..
Chief Kalu : you knew we were having a board meeting today... all your appointments are supposed to come after the meeting. ( To the other chiefs) or...am i wrong?
All : No..
Sola : so...a patient should be put on hold.. because a board meeting is supposed to go on .... later in the day?
Chief Obi : that is the hospital rules...Child.
Tosin : my patients was not one...that I could turn away...
Chief Kalu : and who asked you?
Sola : every person in this room has the right to say whatever they want.... don't try to bully a Fellow Doctor... Chief Kalu.
Chief Jacobs : who is bullying who?
Chief Falodun : Chief Kalu and Chief Jacobs...do you have a problem with Dr. Abisola and Dr. Oluwatosin?
Chief Adams : making your two daughters the Head of Senior Residents And Head of Attending Physician is so unacceptable...Chief Kalu's Son has been here for over Six years... all of us in this room knows that the next head of Senior Residents should be Him and not your daughter Dr. Abisola...
Sola : I was made Head of Senior Residents because I am more competent than Chief Kalu's Son...not because I am the C.E.O's daughter.
Chief Falodun : Dr.Abisola....you are not to speak untill you are being spoken to...take note..
Sola : I am so sorry....
Chief Kalu : No senior resident in this room is better than my son....he has put in so much effort and work into making this hospital what it is today....not recognizing him is so inhumane and unfair.
Dr. Kendrick : Dr. Abisola has performed more difficult surgeries than Dr. Chris had ever performed. It's only fair to put her in charge..
Chief Jacobs : Dr. Kendrick...let me ask you a question. If tomorrow you are removed from your position as Head of Clinical Department...and you find out that your replacement is Dr. Oluwatosin who just became a Certified Medical Doctor two years ago...how would you feel?
Dr. Kendrick : The Faloduns are the most competent doctors we have in Nigeria. A Cardiologist, a Neurosurgeon, a Dermatologist, and a Haematologist. These are one of the most difficult department in The Medical field. They have made names...not just in Nigeria but in some African Countries....we should be happy and lucky that we have one of the most talked about doctors in our hospital.
Chief Adams : are you trying to say that the Faloduns are the only competent doctors we have in this hospital? Are you trying to degrade the effort of other doctors?
Chief Kalu : I had so much respect for you Dr. Kendrick...
Chief Falodun : are my Children the agenda for today's meeting?
Dr. Grace : we should move to something more important...
Chief Jacobs : so what we are saying is not important?( In Yoruba ) dara lati wo ẹnu rẹ.
Dr. Hilda : why are we all behaving like we have never asked these two amazing female doctors for help... Chief Jacobs..when you had difficulty with a patient with Brain tumor..the first person you ran to was Dr. Abisola. Chief Kalu...when you had a hard time handling a difficult surgery in the O.R( operation room) the only person you sent for was Dr. Caleb. Same goes to you Chief Adams...did you not call Dr. Tosin for Consultation when you had a rare case with a patient?? Why are you all behaving as tho... they do not deserve what they were given.
Chief Falodun : I didn't come all the way from the government house to discuss my daughters...I have lot's of important things to do than to sit here and chat like women.
Chief Kalu : it is an agreement that you must answer when the board members call.
Sola : not for something this cheap...
Chief Jacobs : (stands in anger) shut your mouth .. child.
Chief Falodun : (stands as well) if anybody has a problem about the positions my children hold in this hospital....he or she can write a compliant to the office of the Commissioner for Health ...untill then...I am done with this..(angrily leaves the room....while others follow)...
Light fades...
Same day....after the meeting Dr. Abisola's office 11:30am...
Sola : ( angrily pushes her office door and enters inside.....Tosin and Halima comes in with her) I am actually so pissed right now.
Halima : ( sits on the couch) these are Old men..they shouldn't bother you.
Sola : that is the same excuse I have been getting for a very long time now....so because they are Old men...they can speak to us anyhow they want?
Tosin : and it's always about Chief Kalu's Son.
Halima : who is Chief Kalu's Son?
Tosin : Chris..
Halima : wait a minute.....you mean the Chris you dated?
Tosin : ( nods)
Sola : I don't even know how you were able to cope with such a mistake..
Tosin : ( in a calm tone) Abisola...that's enough...
Sola : what do you mean by 'that's enough'? Didn't you see the way his father was embarrassing himself at the board meeting?
Tosin : Chris was not the one that spoke to us rudely..
Sola : but it's his father who wants to forcefully take what rightfully belongs to me.
Tosin : you are now sounding like those Old men....I mean what is this nonsense about taking and not taking what belongs to Caesar? I don't get it..
Sola : Tosin you are being outrageously rude and it's pissing me the .F. up.
Tosin : you are the one who is being passive aggressive..
Sola : really? So I am now being passive aggressive..right? So you are calling me aggressive because of that irresponsible imbecile who I believe has hurt you more that words can say..
Tosin : watch your mouth.. sis..
Sola : (stands in anger) are you talking to me? Oluwatosin Falodun..are you telling me Abisola to watch my mouth?
Tosin : I can't even do this with you right now.... seriously. (Tries to open the door).
Sola : ( immediately walks to her and pulls her by her arm) are you deaf? Did I not ask you a question?
Halima : ( immediately stands in-between Sola and tosin) Abeg o...are you guys seriously trying to fight here?
Sola : ( tries to push Halima out of the way) Halima please kindly move..i just want her to say that to my face again...
Tosin : I am just respecting you as my elder sister....could you please leave my arm...I have better things to do...
Sola : are you on to something? Are you now taking some of those drugs in your office?
Tosin : Sola please leave my arm...
Jamie : ( Opens the door and tries to come in) ah ah..what is going on?
Tosin : please Jamie could you tell your sister to leave me?
Jamie : ( in confusion) Kilode? Abisola ( forcefully pulls Sola's hands away from Tosin's arm) we are in the hospital for Christ sake....
Sola : when we get home...( Pushes tosin and leaves the office)
Jamie : (to tosin) my baby...what happened?
Tosin : ( hisses at Jamie and leaves)
Jamie : (to Halima) what happened?
Halima : I don't know....(Walks out of the office... leaving Jamie in Total confusion)
