I felt a deep sorrow in my chest.

"That time, Nancy mentioned there was a specific reason you made me end the pregnancy.

"What was it exactly?

"Is there really some hereditary condition you have?"

It became clear that during Nancy's time overseas, she maintained contact with Luke.

After our marriage, Luke had gradually come to accept me. When we discovered my fertility issues, he stood by me through countless IVF attempts, which genuinely touched him.

Just as he was beginning to truly embrace our relationship, Nancy presented him with a chance.

The woman he'd admired for four long years, his seemingly unattainable first love.

She invited him to join her abroad.

Consequently, he informed me of a lengthy business trip that would keep him away for months.

Aware of my strong desire for a child, upon his return, he supported my IVF treatments, driven by a sense of guilt.

This went on for three years.

And I became deeply devoted to him.
