Chapter-29: real nature of Astoria

At that time dobby is freed and Daphne got a hold of dobby for herself. Dobby has righteous face and it needs to be kept as a cover in many places. She is now close to 15 years old and her beauty is showing.

When she enters third year she would turn 15 that is in three months. Her date of birth is on September 5th after all. With that she can become an adult quickly. Being a child has many restrictions.

During this summer vacation she first went to visit the mining town in Alaska that was prepared for the wear wolves that contracted to her. They are happy with food accommodation and the company of fellow tribesmen.

They also elected a leader named Victor to be their face and he has been managing the things well. Daphne's main investment went here and it has been successfully producing the returns. By September they would break even and everything after that would be profits.

It is a legal business and she has the protection of the muggle prime minister and the magic minister. So she is not worried about this matte. She once again took her sister to join the training camp. 

Her sister matured a bit and she is no longer listening to the words of Daphne from few days ago. The reason is the rebellious period. But Daphne would not let her fall so easily and started to beat some sense into her mind.

Naturally there is no mother in the family and she has to take that role to put some sense into her sister. With all the wealth she accumulated she has just enough points to buy one blood curse breaking charm.

She is going to use that now. So she called her father and her sister to go the basement and asked dobby and wily to guard outside so that no one would disturb them during this time.

Daphne first spoke to her father and sister.

"Father, sister, I only got this one blood curse breaking charm with me. I am going to use it on you Astoria. You have already showed signs of premature awakening of the blood curse. I cannot lose my beloved sister.

I have prepared a potion for the recovery. But the entire thing is slightly painful. Please endure it. Once the curse is broken then everything would be fine. As for me it will take few years before I can get another curse charm.

Any way my blood curse did not show signs of activation. So it is more important for you them me. Once the blood curse is removed our descendents will no longer have this blood curse."

The eyes of Astoria became wet. In the past few days they quarreled every day but today her sister is helping her which made her happy but also felt that things are not correct. She doubted that her sister is just using her as a lab rat.

The more she thought about it the more she felt that something is wrong and she finally came to a conclusion that the charm might be a testing product and her sister wanted to use it on her to test. 

If it is successful then her sister would get a better one without any side effects and use it later to escape from the blood curse. This made her feel contempt towards her sister. The previous bonding is now gone and she quickly said.

"What are you talking sister? You can use the charm first. I don't know if it works or not and I don't know if you want to try that on me for testing so that you can use a proper one later."

"What are you talking Astoria? You sister has worked so hard to get that charm how can she harm you."

Florian said to Astoria with anger. But Astoria immediately said.

"Father, what are you talking? Even you could not find a cure for this blood curse. How can a barely qualified third year student like sister can get a hold on something like that.

Also I heard that many people are angry towards her at Hogwarts because of her provoking Dumbledore and other professors. I think that she has some mental problems and you should correct it with showing her to a magic doctor."

The words of Astoria directly angered Daphne and she smiled meaningfully and said.

"Since you don't want to use it sister, I will use it. But you cannot blame me later if there is no second one of this charm. I cannot be sure if I can get a second one or not. Since you are so adamant that I am tricking you I will use it."

After speaking to Astoria, Daphne looked at her father and said. 

"Father, it is better to divide the properties early on so that my dear sister would not say that I took away most of the property from the family. Some things are my hard earned and are registered on my name.

You have to make things clear for this matter father."

She did not give Florian any time to speak as she directly used the charm of blood curse breaking on herself. Immediately the charm light up with many golden rays and turned into a stream of light.

It went into her body and her body started to release black smoke. The nerves where the light passed showed brilliant light like golden blood is flowing inside. At the same time her body started to bleed all over with black blood.

Daphne endured the pain with her trembling body. The potion to recover blood is in the hands of her father and she already instructed him when he should give the potion to her.
