Ace doesn't move.
Kieran stays still too, forehead pressed lightly against the side of Ace's head, his breath warm against Ace's skin. His arms remain firm around him, holding him, grounding him.
The silence stretches between them, heavy and thick, filled with words left unsaid.
Ace's chest tightens. He wants to push Kieran away, wants to be mad, wants to hold onto that anger because it's the only thing keeping him from falling apart completely.
But he also doesn't want to be alone.
His fingers twitch against Kieran's arm, barely brushing over his skin before curling into a fist. He takes a slow, shaky breath.
"I can't help it, it happened so fast and...," Ace whispers. His voice is low, raw, barely audible, but Kieran hears it. He stiffens immediately.
"I know know baby... and am sorry,"
Kieran's hands tighten slightly on Ace's back, conflicted. He lifts his head slightly, eyes searching Ace's face.
