Chapter 80: The Search Begins
Everyone cheered as the final game began, a sea of bodies looked so full with excitement.
The whistles and cheers traveled through the forest, but Gabriel barely heard any of it.
His eyes scanned the bleachers, the entrance, the back lot—anywhere Diane could be.
She wasn't there.
His stomach twisted with a sick feeling he couldn't shake.
Diane was never late, not for something like this.
She should have been by his side, cheering with that fierce, competitive fire in her eyes.
But she was gone.
'Could it be because of the kiss?' He thought to himself.
Riot jogged up beside him, wiping sweat from his brow.
"Hey, man, have you seen Diane?"
Gabriel's jaw clenched. "No," he snapped, his heart thudding in his chest. "She was supposed to be here."
Riot frowned, glancing around the field.
"Maybe she's in the tent. You know how she gets—sometimes she needs a minute."
