Chapter 84: The Last Hunt
Evelyn's hand trembled, but her aim was stable—or it should've been.
The muzzle of her gun flashed in the dark, the sound of gunfire split the air as bullets whizzed past them.
Too close.
Gabriel ducked low, shielding Diane instinctively as he pulled her against the stalled SUV.
Riot crouched on the other side, his injured shoulder pressed against the wheel well, teeth clenched against the pain.
"Damn it," Riot hissed. "She's lost her mind."
"She always was insane," Gabriel muttered, his pulse pounding in his ears.
Another bullet struck the ground inches from his boot, sending dirt flying.
"And she's a worse shot than I thought."
Diane's breath came in short, fast bursts, but her brain was forming a plan.
Over Evelyn's wild gunfire, she heard the sound of the wolves growing louder.
The howls were so chilling and hungry.
