Chapter 98: The Sobs

So, the sirens finally cut through the cold night air…

Blue and red lights flashed against the townhouse walls as the officers swarmed the property, securing the scene. 

Inside, Diane was standing beside Gabriel, her arms wrapped tightly around herself as she watched the officers lift Rachel's body onto a stretcher, a white sheet draped over her.

Arthur hadn't let go of Gabriel since the moment they had taken him from Rachel's grasp. 

His small fingers clung to Gabriel's shirt as if letting go would send him spiraling back into danger.

Diane wanted to hold him, to reassure him, but she knew she had to wait.

They weren't done yet.

A group of officers escorted Adrian toward a police car, his hands cuffed behind his back.

Blood still stained his jaw where Micha had knocked him out, but it did nothing to dull the venom in his eyes.
