The space between them disappeared in an instant.

Diane had kissed Gabriel before, but never like this. 

Never without restraint. Never without the pressure from the world pressing between them, forcing them apart before they could truly give in.

Tonight, there was no hesitation. No second-guessing.

Just the two of them.

Gabriel's grip on the back of her neck tightened, not possessive, but still strong enough—like he wasn't willing to let her go just yet. 

His lips moved against hers with a slow hunger, and Diane felt herself leaning into it, losing herself in the warmth of his touch.

She wasn't sure who deepened the kiss first. 

Maybe it was her. Maybe it was him. Maybe it was inevitable.

His hand slid to her waist, fingers pressed into the fabric of her blouse as if debating whether to pull her closer.
