No doubt…Diane really loved Gabriel. 

The office was too silent, but just ticking off the antique clock on the wall seemed to be loud enough. 

Diane sat behind her desk, fingers steepled as she processed Riot's words.

Henry Vaughn had taken the bait.

That meant the real game was about to begin.

The door swung open, and Gabriel walked in. 

Riot followed behind him, dropping into a chair with a smug grin.

Gabriel crossed his arms. "You called?"

Diane leaned back in her chair, nodding toward the file Riot had left on her desk.

 "Henry Vaughn has been poking around more aggressively than expected. He's convinced there's a missing piece to Rachel's story."

Gabriel arched a brow. "And does he have anything real?"

Riot smirked. "Not yet. But that's the fun part."
