Elara's POV
It seemed like everyone was curious about my true identity, as there were rumours all over the place. The public now saw me in a much better light and I was relieved that my name had cleared. I was no longer the girl who intimate with the CEO at a club. Kate and her team of stylists started working as soon as I showered, doing everything from curling my hair to applying makeup and matching my clothes to the various events of the day. I wore a limited-edition Chanel dress for my breakfast and spa date with Lisa ,Candy and Ciara they were my only friends in the city and the ones who are partly to blame for my encounter with Dave.
Dave had sent out a car for the girls to keep me company on our spa date. When they arrived, I was overjoyed to see them, and they raced out of the car for an unusually close group embrace. The girls revealed to me how scared they were after viewing the previous articles about Dave and I, and how they had no idea I knew such a business mogul on my way to the spa date. Dave had reminded me that I was to tell no one that our engagement is solely founded on a contract, and that his secretary had earlier contacted the girls to let them know that we were already acquainted and that we intended to tie the knot.
"It was good that I rekindled with Dave," Candy said. "I didn't know much of the story they had been told, so I listened and smiled at every comment they made." Shortly after we were getting massages, Lisa asked if Mr. CEO's hand felt this good, and my mind slowly returned to the day at the bar when his hands caressed my thighs. I closed my eyes to remember the feeling, and I unknowingly replied, "Even better." The girls' loud giggles made me feel shy.
Later, after we had our drinks, we went to the pool where we had a chance chat. The girls asked me about Dave, and I responded based only on my prior interactions with him. Erica entered and said, "Madam, your date and gala with Mr. Arnault are coming up." Candy and Ciara made auuuuuuuuuu noises as Lisa asked if I was going to the business awards banquet gala. I replied that I was, and she warned me to be on the lookout because those wealthy snobs will stop at nothing to bring down anyone who is higher than them, and you climbed that ladder as if it were an easy squeeze. Erica continued, "Ma'am, we must leave," and Ciara added, "Say hello to my ex and make sure to look extremely confident."
