Scene 1: The Cipher’s Final Call
The Cipher sat on the ceremonial pedestal, glowing faintly. Mira stood before it, her reflection distorted in the smooth surface. The past battles played in her mind like a vivid dream—the shadows they had fought, the losses endured, and the fragile victories won. She traced the ancient runes with her fingertips, feeling the warmth of its power seep into her skin.
Ethan entered the chamber, as he hesitated in his steps. “You’ve been here all night,” he said, in a soft voice.
“I can’t stop thinking,” Mira replied. “It feels like it’s leading us somewhere. Like it’s not finished with us yet.”
Ethan looked at the Cipher. “If it’s leading us somewhere, then we have to trust it. But are you ready for what it might reveal?”
Mira turned to him, her outlook was resolute. “I don’t think it’s a question of being ready. It’s about whether we can afford not to follow.”
