CHAPTER 3: HYBRID STORY

"You're a..., You're a vampire" Rick said while breathing heavily, he and Jane were both scared having seen the man like that, his fangs suddenly vanished when he closed his mouth and opened them again, his eyes came back to their normal colour as well,

"so, now that you know what I really am, I guess it's time for a proper introduction" he said and waited a while whilst he was looking at them both,

"my name is Skull, and I'm the head of the Union of Underworld Beings" he finally said.

"What kind of a name is Skull huh?, and what do you mean by Union of Underworld beings, you mean there are many others like you out there?" Rick asked curiously,

"Well Skull you see is not my real name but it's a nick name, it's what I've been called all through my lifespan as a vampire and yes, there are many others like me out there but not just vampires, werewolves and sorcerers, demons also and that's where you come in" Skull replied him,

"hold on, so you mean I'm a demon!?" Rick said in surprise.

"Oh God no!, I thought you were smart, I said you're a vampire-werewolf hybrid or didn't you hear me earlier" Skull replied,

"how do I know you're telling the truth when I haven't even seen any symptoms of being a vampire or a wolf, I've never taken blood, I walk in the sun and never get hurt and I also can't compel anyone to doing what I want" Rick said briefly.

"Usually when you're a hybrid walking in the sun should be the least of your problems because you're automatically born a daylighter, but for us the normal Vampires we usually put on rings or bracelets or any jewellery at all with a protection spell being cast on them by sorcerers and that's how we survive the sun, but if you're also thinking why you're unable to compel and also lack the cravings for blood it's just as I said, your powers haven't been revealed but they need to as soon as possible if you because we need you to be ready" Skull said.

"Ready for what?" Rick asked curiously,

"there's going to be a demon invasion on the earth says a prophecy from many years ago, according to it if the earth even stands a chance it would need a young hybrid born to both a vampire and a werewolf, there are only two beings who match the description, but you're the young one so it definitely has to be you" Skull replied him,

"Puh, that just ridiculous, how sure are you I'm the one and how sure are you that's it's even in this lifetime?" Rick asked.

"Look kid one of our sorcerers saw a vision, and according to him the invasion is fast approaching he said now would be a great time to find the chosen one which is you, but then if you're not interested I don't really care because wether you like it or not you're going to have to fight with us" Skull replied Rick with a harsh look on his face, Rick also looked back at him grumpily before turning his face away as he now looked to be deep in thought.

"Alright fine, it's me you want right, so let her go or is she also part of the prophecy!?" Rick finally said after he had been quiet for about a minute or two,

"she's not part of any prophecy, she would have made a pretty great meal though" Skull replied,

"hey, I said let her go not eat her, don't even go there" Rick said in a threatening tone trying to defend Jane,

"I thought you said she wasn't your friend, so you've changed your mind now?" Skull asked,

"no I haven't, I just don't want blood on my hands, I'll do what you want and see if all you talked about is actually true" Rick said as he was still unsure as to whether he should call Jane a friend or not.

"Fine it's alright, once you get your powers you would still have blood on your hands anyways but for now I'll do as you wish" Skull said while looking at him before turning to look at his men who were standing close to the door,

"release them" he then said.

Two of the men then walked towards where Rick and Jane were being tied up and then cut loose the ropes that held them, they both quickly got up from the chair while rubbing their wrists which were in pain from being tied up for so long.

"Take the girl back to where you brought them from" Skull said and man who untied her then grabbed her by the shoulder,

"wait" she then said,

"what is it?" Skull asked,

"thank you Rick"she said giving him a hug, everyone in the room including Skull was amazed by this gesture,

"looks like she sees you as more of a friend than you see her" Skull said.

"That's enough Jane, they'll take you back now, just go home okay" Rick said to her after he pulled away from the hug, and held Jane's face when he made the statement.

"Alright, take the girl back to where you brought them from, and hey girl go home the night is dangerous not just because of vampires but there are demons out there also, and one more thing say nothing about this to anyone, cause once I find out you did I'll kill you instantly and drain you of all your blood" Skull said in a scary tone,

"and as for me and Rick here, we have a lot to catch up on" he then finished, immediately the man who held Jane's shoulder earlier held her once again as this time they walked out the room, she took a brief glance at Rick just before they left,

"okay Rick, are you ready?" Skull asked,

"I'll do my best" Rick replied him and Skull then walked towards the door and shut it.

...

"There's your car, go now and drive home" the man who took Jane said to her as he had now taken her out of Skull's lare and back to where her and Rick were taken from, after he said this to her he then dashed away leaving her to check around if the area was clear.

After she had spent about a minute checking the whole area and seeing it was clear of any suspicious activities she then headed back to her car,

"Vampires" she then grumbled,

"I'm not his friend!, guess I wasted my time coming to get him afterall, I wouldn't even be in this mess"she also said as she was annoyed by the sound of it, she then reached out for the car keys and started the engine.

She then picked up her phone which she left in the car while she and Rick were taken, she then turned it on and the time read 3:18, it was morning as the whole place was still bright, she then shook her head and set the car's gear on drive as she quickly drove away.

...

*Bang bang bang* someone knocked on the door,

"Who could that be?" Sarah said as she stood up from the couch, she looked to have been sleeping there as there was a blanket and a pillow, she walked up to the door and peeped through the little lens and saw that it was Jane so she quickly opened the door.

"Aunty, I think Rick might be in trouble" Jane said the moment the door opened leaving Sarah in mere shock.
