22. Sacrificial Ritual

Sambh landed along with the two snakes in the dark dungeon where they could barely see each other but feel their presence as they were holding Sambh in its tail. They moved ahead rising from there in the darkness.

Sambh was unable to see anything there, but those two snakes were so perfect with their direction in those dark hours. It was surely some sort of dark ceilings as the sounds echoed in the silence. they could hear their breathe.

It was very dark place where he could barely see himself. He slowly and eventually moved ahead as he was pushed by the white tails of those snakes that was only glowing there.

He was thrown at the dark dungeon. He could barely see anyone there. Those snakes pushed him in the ceiling of dark ashes near it where he was standing. It was prison in the darkness. They locked him there.

"... "

There was no point of talking anymore as they had decided to throw him in the dungeon there. It was sure that they were not going to spare him at any cost. It was life and death for him, but it was amore a sacrifice for them.

Those snakes looked at him as they stared at him staring from the darkness filled with emptiness. One of the snakes looked back and spoke," stay here without disturbing yourself. we will be in watch for you."

"There is no point in shouting. None is going to take you out from here. Its most protected and guarded place in the entire village."

They moved away from there and vanished in the darkness. He was not aware of what was happening but surely knew that he had to wait till the full moon grows in the darkness of the night. Maybe he could see some hope there.

"Is there anyone?"

Sambh yelled out for the help but there was none to help him out. Moreover he had never thought that he will be caught in such an endless prison. There was no light or hope there but his ears could feel some movement in the darkness.

Sambh spoke looking towards the sound," Is there anyone?"

He could feel some sort of snakes there. It was approaching him purposely. He gazed at the darkness to see anyone there. He didn't see anyone there as the sound stopped all of a sudden in a while.

"Is there anyone? Can you help me out from here."

Sambh kept on yelling, but his voice echoed in the dark ceiling and the silence filled the dungeon everywhere. As he was looking here and there in despair. His eyes were searching for the giant figure that his ears could still feel its presence.

His eyes looked the two glowing eyes just ahead of his head. He immediately felt down to earth seeing those eyes. He remembered those eyes that looked so familiar with him. It moved ahead in the darkness.

"sssssssssssssssssss"

Sambh holds his breathe for a while and spoke," I think I have seen you somewhere. Can you help me to get out from here."

It looked so gloomy towards it as it moved towards the prison. Its eyes sparkled in the darkness as it moved. Its huge body circled in the silence looking to and fro. It was really huge as it moved in the silence.

"SSSSSSSSSSS"

The eyes leaned down near him as it took its tongue in and out in a response. There came a reply from it," obsoletely not!"

It was so harsh voice tearing down the silence of the dungeon. It moved so fast as it replied in the thin air hissing. It reminded him about the scary voice in the village that had attracted the attention of the entire village.

Sambh easily recognised the voice. It was the voice of the king of the snakes there. Sambh stepped back hearing those voice. He wondered that why the snake king had appeared there in the silence of the dungeon.

"Hey, can we negotiate?"

"On what condition?"

Sambh felt so helpless there. The one whom he asked for help was the devil who imprisoned him in such a dark dungeon. Sambh was totally clear of it that he had to wait for the night to grow and ceremony to begin.

The head snake circled at the gate of his cell. Then it spoke," no matter how much you try there is no way to escape from here."

It looked at him circling as its only voice filled the echo and silence in the dungeon. Its movement was quarrelling the dark mud there. It made Sambh to step back in the cell. He knew there was no profit in asking for help anymore.

It continued and spoke," we were waiting for this day from a very long time. Now the day has finally come."

"Tonight, there will be a huge fest, and it will be worth watching for you." Its tongue glowed in the darkness as it moved and circled," Since you are our prime chief guest here. It will really be interesting to see you there."

It stepped away from the bar and bowed down its head preparing to leave fro there. then it paused and spoke," It's better that you won't try to escape from here. There is no exit for this dungeon apart from the village."

It laughed and left from there staring at him so seriously. Sambh had to wait in the darkness of the dungeon. There was no life there. Sambh sat at the ground looking at the bars that was holding him back from there.

Sambh murmured to himself moving here and there in the dark ceilings of the dungeon that tickled him through the gate. His mind was totally blank as the event was happening too fast for him since he came here.

Sambh repelled himself and waited for a while. As he was waiting then he heard the sound of drum. It was so loud alerting the entire village. Sambh became aware of it that the time has come for the sacrificial ritual.
