Chapter 314: Big Black Rescues His Mother

"Seventh layer of hell!"

As the eerie voice made contact with the nine-colored vortex in her sea of consciousness, Dany jolted awake. She looked around nervously and asked urgently, "Kui Xi, what is that thing?"

Kui Xi sat cross-legged, silent and motionless.

"Hey, Kui Xi?"

The Shadowbinder gave no response, as if completely lifeless.

Suddenly, a spark of insight struck Dany. Her primary consciousness, still within her body, instantly entered the dragon soul state.

Soul Strike, initiated!

"Get lost—!"An invisible shockwave burst forth from Dany's body atop the dragon's back. Simultaneously, her spiritual projection on Thunder Island opened its mouth, causing ripples to spread across Kui Xi's wide crimson robe.

Kui Xi had left a fragment of his soul in Dany's right wrist. The Soul Strike traveled through that fragment and struck the soul in his main body. His body trembled slightly, and visible wisps of black mist emerged from beneath his red lacquered mask.

The mist twisted in midair, forming various half-human, half-beast shapes before finally bursting apart with a soft pop, vanishing inside the stone chamber.

"Now do you understand... the downside of the forbidden soul coordinate technique?" Kui Xi said between heavy breaths, his voice faltering.

Dany nodded with a complicated expression. "I was able to attack your real body through the soul fragment in my wrist."

Sorcery that manipulates the soul is truly dangerous—especially when the soul being played with is your own.

If Dany could use the soul fragment on her wrist to attack Kui Xi at will, then Barristan, Darkstar, or even the Faceless Men could do the same to her—assuming they had mastered soul attack techniques.

"It can also help drive out the evil god's curse," Kui Xi said, eyes complex as he stared at Dany. He sighed, "Dragons really are the pinnacle of power in the material world... Incredible. Normally, when the curse flares up, it takes me half a day just to suppress it. Yet your dragon's single roar completely banished the evil god's power from my soul sea."

"It wasn't just a dragon's roar. I merged my soul with Big Black's and used the dragon shout sorcery," Dany explained. Then, worried, she asked, "You've been targeted by the evil god in Thunder Island's underground palace? I only brushed against it and was nearly overwhelmed by its whispers."

"A week ago, on a seemingly ordinary night, the Queen of Thunder Island suddenly killed Countess Rose, her bedmate, without warning. She even clawed open her belly with her nails and devoured half her intestines while lying in the blood."

"Prince Bukhan was deeply disturbed by the incident. I had no choice but to accelerate the underground palace investigation. In the past few days alone, one to two hundred palace guards stationed near the palace have gone insane."

But Dany's attention had drifted. She asked oddly, "The queen sleeps with a countess?"

"Didn't your centaur handmaidens sleep beside you?" Kui Xi replied flatly.

"That's different. The countess isn't a handmaiden and isn't there to serve the queen. I've never done anything weird to Ely or Jhiqi," Dany quickly defended.

"Who knows..."

"Alright, no more nonsense. What's your current situation—are you in danger?" Dany asked seriously.

"Royal favor matters, but I won't gamble with my life," Kui Xi said.

Dany tilted her head, thinking. "How about this—every night from now on, I'll shout at you once at random times? No need to light the glass candle for spiritual projection. I'll just use the soul fragment on my wrist to help purify your soul."

Kui Xi furrowed his brow and looked at her earnest face, emotions swirling within him. He nodded lightly. "Thank you."

Dany was also pleased to be able to help someone she once could only look up to. She straightened her face and solemnly warned, "You better be careful. Dragon might doesn't work miracles—it has limits."

"You should worry about your own problems first!" Kui Xi, sensing her tone shift, rolled his eyes and said irritably, "I foresaw that you might face a great crisis—A red crow falls upon the brow,A mother's sight obscured,Her child silently taken by the white wolf.—I don't know exactly what it means, but it clearly foretells something bad happening to you."

"The child taken by the wolf?" Dany frowned, deep in thought. Could that bastard son of hers have been snatched by a wild wolf?

No, the child was taken because the mother's vision was blocked. If she was the "mother" in the prophecy... she'd never seen that child—so how could her vision be blocked?

And the red crow... it landed on her brow.Suddenly, cold sweat broke out all over Dany.

"Why did I forget about this?" she muttered, face pale.

"What? What did you remember?" Kui Xi asked anxiously.

"The red crow... someone warned me about it once—a forest witch, gifted in prophecy. She too said the red crow would land on my brow. But I didn't notice it," Dany said grimly.

"Do you know what the red crow represents?" Kui Xi asked again.

"I'm not sure, but..." Dany looked up at him and asked, "Do you know the Three-Eyed Crow?"

"No."

"A green seer."

Kui Xi gasped, "The strongest skinchanger?"

"Yes."

"Green seers are the most gifted in soul power among supernatural beings... Damn it, now I get it." Kui Xi's expression shifted—part revelation, part concern. He asked urgently, "A green seer with the code name 'Red Crow' has set his sights on you. A fragment of his spirit has entered your soul sea and is subtly influencing you—Where are you right now? Your exact location."

"At the Wall in the North, I plan to capture a White Walker," Dany said hesitantly.

"I remember very clearly—you never had any plans to go to the Wall," Kui Xi said coldly.

"That's true. But I came across news about the White Walkers in the Citadel. Do you know about them?"

Kui Xi replied sternly, "What does that have to do with you? You've always been cautious—why are you being so reckless this time? It's very likely that your will has been influenced or manipulated."

"But you once said that the Valyrian Archmages were the most powerful extraordinary beings in the world, so powerful even the gods avoided them." Dany was unwilling to admit that her actions might have been manipulated like a puppet on strings.

"You only acquired the basic meditation technique. You haven't learned a single one of the Archmages' secret arts," Kui Xi reminded her.

"I have dragons. They can protect me and shield me from magical harm."

"Dragons aren't gods. Daenerys, whether my suspicions are correct or not, it's never wrong to be more cautious," Kui Xi said with an unprecedented seriousness.

After a long silence, Dany asked in a low voice, "What should I do? Leave Westeros immediately?"

"No."

"If your will truly has been influenced by the Greenseer, you might change your mind before you even manage to leave Westeros completely—or worse..."

"I'll teach you a sacrificial spell to R'hllor," Kui Xi said as she spoke and quickly dragged a wooden box from beneath the soft couch, taking out a roll of smooth, dark parchment.

"A sacrifice to the Lord of Light?"

The parchment was half a meter wide and unrolled to two meters long on the couch. It revealed a bizarre pattern, drawn in light gray ink like the silhouette of a shadow, surrounded by densely written ancient Asshai glyphs.

"Shadow-demon R'hllor—offer sacrifices to please Him, and you'll be granted temporary divine power. As long as the sacrifice is rich enough, it will surely dispel the Greenseer's will from your soul sea."

Kui Xi pointed to the diagram on the scroll and explained quickly, "This is the altar layout. There's not enough time for you to master all the sacrificial rituals, but R'hllor is greedy. Just follow this diagram and offer enough sacrifices, and He will definitely respond. Here, and here..."

The Shadowbinder marked seventeen or eighteen spots on the diagram and said, "Place a couple in love at each of these locations. Age doesn't matter—only that the couple is genuinely affectionate. You'll need to visit several villages—"

"Wait," Dany interrupted, her face darkening. "You're asking me to sacrifice living people?"

"If not people, then what—livestock? This is R'hllor we're talking about. He has no interest in cattle."

"I will not sacrifice. I won't offer even a single chicken to some evil god!" Dany said firmly.

Kui Xi slowly removed her right hand from the parchment, her tone complex. "Then what's your solution?"

"If one dragon isn't enough to resist the Greenseer, then I'll use two. If two won't do, then three. I've dealt with something like this before. That's enough for today—I'm going to try it now."

Without waiting for Kui Xi to say more, Dany's mental projection suddenly faded and disappeared.

After a long time, Kui Xi murmured to the empty cavern, "This girl... she's growing so fast, and the trouble she brings grows just as quickly and as dangerously. I just hope she comes out of this safely."

The black dragon circled slowly above the snowy mountain forests. The setting sun cast shifting shadows on Dany's uncertain face. Beside her, Little White glided over the snow-laden cedar treetops, aimlessly searching for prey to snack on.

After a while, Dany came back to herself, put away the glass candle, and smiled as she spoke to the black dragon beneath her: "Big Black, since learning meditation, you've really improved your hunger tolerance!"

"Hss-gaa!" Big Black's roar carried obvious pride.

"Mm, your mind's gotten a bit sharper, too."

"Hss-gaa!" Big Black let out a mocking call toward "dumb" Little White, then flew southeast as Dany commanded.

Postcrown Town, south of the Wall and west of the Kingsroad—a deserted village. "Kind" Alyssane had once spent a night resting in a watchtower beside the lake here, and it was later renamed "Postcrown Town" in her honor.

It was a "famous" place—Bran had stayed here during his journey north, and wildling raiders had camped here before attacking Castle Black. Now, Dany landed with her two dragons in an apple orchard outside the village.

Withered leaves covered the ground, and a few small, shriveled brown apples hung on the bare branches.

Dany found a dry patch of ground and sat cross-legged. Big Black and Little White lay on either side of her. She pressed her hands to each of their foreheads and muttered, "Big Black, Little White, and also Little Green, Little Gold—Mother's in big trouble now. That bastard Bran is twisting my will across timelines.

Big Black alone can't sense his psychic interference through our dragon-soul link. So just like we dealt with the old dragon king through the Dragonhorn, now the three—no, four—of you need to enter my soul sea together.

Four dragon souls will definitely make Bran cough blood. Come on—Big Black, you go first. Yes, good. Little White, you're next. Little White? Hey, Little White?"

No matter how many times she called, she couldn't sync into a dragon-soul state with Little White. Dany opened her eyes and glared at him. Little White's golden eyes blinked back innocently.

Slap slap slap! She smacked his forehead three times and scolded loudly, "This is a crisis, and you're still being stubborn? Last time, to save you two little brats, all three of you linked up instantly. But now that it's me who needs saving, you're giving me nothing?!"

Little White looked dazed and confused.

But Big Black—his blood-red eyes flickered, as if making a difficult decision.

Boom! Just as Dany was scolding Little White, she suddenly froze, her expression going blank. A blaze of crimson flame erupted from her entire body.
